QUOTE(Icehart @ Jun 12 2012, 07:10 PM)
I got a question to ask about MBA 13". Existing MBA 13" user's input would be appreciated. rclxms.gif

1. How is the heat dissipation with MBA? Would the palm rest feel hot? Also I plan to use extensively on lap so would it burn my lap? laugh.gif

2. Battery life. Apple rated the MBA 13" to have at least 7 hours usage. In actual life, how long would this be? I would use this idly for presentation purposes (and some document editing).

3. Any upgradeable path for MBA 13"? (Like RAM, SSD?)

Thank you. notworthy.gif
The add on from 4GB to 8GB for only RM 306 seems to be quite a good deal.

Install SSD to unibody MBP
here's some read on installing 3rd party SSD on 2011 MBP, note that need to format the SSD to support Mac OS
QUOTE
Any 2.5-inch SSD will fit fine inside of the Mac, but make sure that the SSD you purchase is Mac formatted. Unless you have an external hard drive enclosure, it can be difficult to format the drive without OS X installed. The disk should be formatted using Disk Utility, with a GUID Partition Map that's HFS Partition Type and Mac OS Extended (Journaled).

seems like it quite a hassle on formatting the SSD with the Mac OS clone. hmm.gif

I wanted to buy the MBP 13" at first, but now Apple has launched the Retina Display version and the normal MBPs only have slight updates, is it worth for me to pay few hundreds more and get the 15" with retina display instead?

Although minor update with ivybridge and intel 4000 but quite disappointed that there is no Retina Display and SSD. Should i get the current 13" Macbook Pro ?

Or there will be a 13" Retina and SSD soon this year ?

with that RM3699 price tag, you can't ask for those features.
the 13" retina MBP is rumored to be coming around fall this year.
but it won't have dedicated graphics, and price range will be just below RM5000

they will only do it when they can lower the parts price to meet the margin of the non retina MBP.
if you get the 15" retina MBP i think you should get the apple care, that laptop will surely last you at least 3-5 years.

Thanks for answering my question, but I still have one more question. Now 13 inch MacBook pro 2012 does not have Optical drive?
*
according to this page
http://www.apple.com/asia/macbook-pro/feat...13-and-15-inch/

mbp (non retina) will have optical drive
only mbp with retina dont have optical drive

QUOTE(kelvin9316 @ Jun 12 2012, 07:04 PM)
That's why.  rclxub.gif
Which mac is suitable for C++, oop and java? (13 inch only since I have limited budget)
If don't have optical drive means can't install windows for dual boot  cry.gif .

AFAIK, apple product has a high resale value and low depreciation overtime. even after u use it 3 yrs, u might only lose up to 40%max.
if you survey d GS lyn, their value still 60% above of the original price. rclxub.gif
n this is y i think purchasing apple care is worth it smile.gif
