I think the new mbp is near perfect. Just need an external hdd if you're heavy user. A great USB3.0 hdd will do this job. I dont find 256gb ssd is a big problem thou. The only thing I worry is will it "wear out" like normal hdd? but so far, none of my pc and mac hdd "wear out".

after education price , the old mbp15 cost 5199 and new mbp cost 6199. the difference only 1k but inside you totally different. Thinner, lighter, SSD, 8gb of ram, 1gb ddr5 gt650m, 2 thunderbolt port, hdmi and last but not least, RETINA display. all this only for 1k!

I'm so going to get this beast !  rclxms.gif

New Proc chg to IB, thinner form factor, gc Intel Hd 4k instead of 3k. 4gb ram, higher storage iinm.

btw its d $1199 instead d higher pricing 1.

after comparing the MBP $2199 vs MBP Retina $2199, i think it is more viable to go for MBP with retina as

1. the retina display and high resolution + IPS.
2. running on SSD 256gb (easily can get external HDD for storage for few hundred bucks depends on capacity)
3. thinner form.

I got a question to ask about MBA 13". Existing MBA 13" user's input would be appreciated. rclxms.gif

1. How is the heat dissipation with MBA? Would the palm rest feel hot? Also I plan to use extensively on lap so would it burn my lap? laugh.gif

2. Battery life. Apple rated the MBA 13" to have at least 7 hours usage. In actual life, how long would this be? I would use this idly for presentation purposes (and some document editing).

3. Any upgradeable path for MBA 13"? (Like RAM, SSD?)

Thank you. notworthy.gif
The add on from 4GB to 8GB for only RM 306 seems to be quite a good deal.

1. palm rest won't feel hot, theres no moving object in it.
2. around 5 hours, but i set my brightness to the maximum.
3. SSD can be upgraded after purchase but will cost you a bomb. will not be apple SSD, its 3rd party SSD
