Only the conventional one feeds into Ponzi 2.0

Its Islamic sibling is not.

This and the islamic sibling also high performance after I compare in the morningstar site.
*
The Islamic sibling is feed into CIMB Islamic Asia Pacific Equity Fund

URL: http://www.fundsupermart.com.my/main/admin...etMYCIPRS5C.pdf

CIMB ISLAMIC PRS PLUS ASIA PACIFIC EX JAPAN EQUITY - CLASS C
http://www.fundsupermart.com.my/main/fundi...umber=MYCIPRS5C

CIMB-PRINCIPAL PRS PLUS ASIA PACIFIC EX JAPAN EQUITY - CLASS C
http://www.fundsupermart.com.my/main/fundi...umber=MYCPPRS5C

It's a matter of choice. Some doesn't like Shariah compliant because it cannot invest into conventional banking and non-halal industries like gaming, tobacco and alcoholic beverages.

wat im tryin to say is feeder fund r not created purely for retirement plan. u can risk lose out alot bcoz d fund manager has different mindset from d original PRS funds.

imho, d real PRS  growth / moderate shall always less profitable / less risk compare to outside funds.
*
However, most of our PRS funds are feeder into one or more funds of the respective PRS provider. There's no pure PRS fund that starts from scratch IMHO.

Any good suggestion for PRS that has investment in China? tongue.gif

I am investing in Public PRS..returns are shit. Worse than EPF which makes me wanna puke. So wanna diversify my PRS.
*
Heavy exposure in China is definitely no.

Most of the PRS funds are feeder to existing funds.

Take Hwang PRS funds as example, they're feeding into more than 1 fund to maximize return and reduce risk.

To answer your question, I believe the answer is low. Even PRS growth fund won't dump everything into a single country or region.

Thanks David. I read alot of your post. Any suggested funds to look into that have been providing good returns?

I am thinking of switching from Public to another fund. But my head tells me diversify my this year's tax allowance into another fund to see first. So I have got 3K to play with this year.

If you want offshore exposure, you can consider:

CIMB Islamic PRS Plus Asia Pacific Ex Japan Equity Fund or

CIMB Principal PRS Plus Asia Pacific Ex Japan Equity Fund

Both are feeders to heavily exposed funds at Asia ex Japan region under CIMB.

2-Imma rookie on these PRS fund things, just straight to the point , do return frm PRS fund alwys higher thn 6%?

Thx thx
*
1. Affin Hwang PRS Moderate Fund: ROI: 10.7%, IRR: 7.7%
and Kenanga OnePRS Growth Fund: ROI: 3.4%, IRR: 9.1%

2. Premature to say anything because PRS is very new. Most of the PRS funds age is roughly 3 years top!

1- So what is ur opinion on funds tht you are investing on for the last 3 yrs? Frm the figure tht u gv, there's high n low in this scheme... Do Affin Hwang performence consistently hovered around 8 , 9 or 10 % ?? Hw's the figure for previous 2 years? Sorry im lzy to invstget

Thx txh

You can always pull the fund fact sheet or its performance table for analysis.

URL: http://www.fundsupermart.com.my/main/fundi...number=MYHPRSMF

Its to-date annualized return since inception: 6.8%

Its to-date cumulative return since inception: 14.1%

Since PRS fund is meant for long term, you won't want to be bothered by short term volatility.

Can someone help me on this, I interested to ask my mom to invest in PRS due to the tax rebate, but based on my mom salary n after calculate, how much refund you can get from 3k investment not according to your tax bracket..here the calculation for discussion

before PRS
-------------
Salary 90k
-rebat without PRS = 20k ( Kwsp,insuran, child, zakat )

taxable income = 70k

according to LHDN tax bracket for 2015 onwards - http://www.hasil.gov.my/goindex.php?kump=5...it=5000&sequ=11

first 70k = RM5600

Tax need to pay = Rm5600

After invest in PRS
----------------------
Salary 90k
-rebat with PRS = 23k (Kwsp,insuran, child,zakat + add 3k for PRS)

taxable income =  67000
tax calculation ( 50k - 70k tax bracket)
First 50000 = RM2,850
next 17000 = RM 2720

Tax need to pay = RM5,570
Difference( before - after ) RM5600 - Rm5570 = Rm30 !!

only RM30 difference?? so seem like it not worth it for my mom to invest in PRS right..better go for the normal mutual fund then.

My tax calculation correct or not :-P
*
I believe your mum won't enjoy significant tax saving because taxable number before and after PRS relief falls within the same tax bracket (MYR 50001 - 70000).

For PRS, usually I'll just do a lump sum. I don't want to have a headache of tracking either have I made the contribution or not.

i thought is max rm3k yearly to pay less tax.
im one of them  tongue.gif......prefer gov own me money - not i own gov money

Since 2012, it means 2 years.

The average would be RM 6k per contributor as 2 years have lapsed with RM 3k max per year.

I asked my friend about this prs thing~ She is a banker, she told me that this prs is not secure~ not sure what will happen in a long run because it is very new.. I'm wanted to join but..after she said that...im bit sceptical... she said just save my money in asb~,, >...<"
*
Of course if you have ASx, it'll be better.

Nothing is secured; not even your EPF.

PRS is just a supplement to your EPF. It's like unit trust in the disguise of EPF.
