mekboyz PRS = UT/MF in EPF way
UT=unit trust MF=mutual fund Since FM doesn't want to re-invent the wheel, they mainly feed the contribution from PRS fund to existing UT/MF under their products offering. |

QUOTE(mekboyz @ Sep 20 2018, 05:04 PM) To make you understand, think of EPF as your FD and amanah saham fixed price fund (those popular ones where you and sell at RM1/unit).Returns or dividends generated by EPF is real cash. But not UT/PRS. Why is that so? The answer is very simple. If they give you 3% worth if dividend, the NAV of the fund also drop by 3%. So you gain 3%, you lose 3%. Any nett gain? |

Any nett gain? i thought the incentive/dividend will pay out every year end and compound like EPF.. then how to earn thru this PRS? |

Work like EPF:i thought the incentive/dividend will pay out every year end and compound like EPF.. then how to earn thru this PRS? 1.Long term investment solely for retirement purpose. 2. Divide into 2 accounts: Account I (A) or II (B). 3. Withdrawal at the age of 55 4. Tax relief up for 10 years till YA2021 Intrinsically it is still a unit trust or mutual fund 1. Gain through NAV appreciation 2. Income distribution (dividend) is meaningless (money out from left pocket goes back to right pocket 3. Income distribution could be annual or incidental (read/refer to the fund datasheet) This post has been edited by David83: Sep 21 2018, 02:54 PM |

NAV can go down right? means at 55 i may have less than rm1k? |

QUOTE(mekboyz @ Sep 21 2018, 02:42 PM) har... but why the contribution is locked like EPF then? only can withdraw upon retirement age etc.. Because if you let people withdraw early, people just withdraw where they like. How is money going to grow if you keep withdrawing? i thought the incentive/dividend will pay out every year end and compound like EPF.. then how to earn thru this PRS? As David 83 said to profit/earn is to through capital appreciation of the NAV. Please learn that dividend does not matter in unit trust. |

This post has been edited by MUM: Sep 21 2018, 05:28 PMthe T & C of the PRS funds are made know....your investment are placed into 2 a/c...1 can take out only at retirement age, the other a/c can take out but subjected to taxes... i thought the incentive/dividend will pay out every year end and compound like EPF.. the fund that you selected does not gives out dividend ...it had been spelled out in the prospectus....some other PRS does gives out dividend. in UT investment the dividend distribution is NO GAIN to the investor....as mentioned by RAMJADE just a few post back then how to earn thru this PRS? from tax relief and from the appreciation of the fund's NAV (in your case) |
