Not apple-to-apple comparison as one is sector fund while the other is generic regional fund

thanks... yet to explore other platofrm
direct with AMPRS agent ... each top up deduct around RM8
*
Direct agent is under Class I
Other platform like FSM and eUT is under Class D.
Different class has different sales charge.
A rough calculation and estimation is 3% for each sales order put forward.

And I also remembered somebody mentioned that direct purchase from AmInvestmennt can be paid with credit card. Well, it looks there's no free lunch after all.

sweat.gif  each top up cost RM8...........
assume u top up rm250 each time and the top up fee cost u around (8 x100/250) 3.2%...... sweat.gif
sales charge cost ??????  or the RM8 oledi include sales charge???

like this better accumulate fund n top up quarterly or semi yearly......

why dun find the 0% sales charge punya platform ?.... hmm.gif
*
Accumulate and top up quarterly or yearly makes no difference if sales charge is 3% for Class I unless the direct agent channel has promotion.

As I said, somebody did mention that if buy or make contribution with AmInvestment channel, you pay with credit card by filling a form.

I traced back ...My yearly 1 off contribution less than 3000.
Some 2k, 1k etc
All around RM8 for all. No other cost involve.
My payment method ,,, credit card.

I only top up this fund once a year ... Previous year working oversea ... So not really check in details what has been charged.
*
So the RM8 is annual PPA fee or sales charge?
Don't confuse readers with half baked info. rclxub.gif

There is no info on statement so i can only guess what is it
yea...last year and previous year I work oversea ...so only deposit RM1K/year via credit card.
My statement only shown deposit RM992 instead of RM1K

either they directly deduct RM8 for annual management fee?

I deal direct with AM PRS agent ...I remember they told me no other fee involved.
gonna text her and check it out

I got the answer for you:

Very unlikely since it is very early of a brand new year even though we have more COVID-19 death cases in the first 10 days of 2021 compared to first 9 months of 2020.

Hi, do you guys buy low sell high with your PRS fund? How does the charge work? My fund is "Principal PRS Plus Asia Pacific Ex Japan Equity - Class C"
*
No fee incurred for redemption/sell.

However, if you're withdrawing for non pre-retirement criteria, you'll be slapped for 8% tax penalty.

I thought after sold the fund, the money just go back into my account? Then I can buy back when the price is low? Just like how stock investing works right?
*
This is PRS; not EPF nor shares trading account (trust).

There's no 'trust" account involved.

You're dealing directly with the respective fund house/manager.

PPA won't or don't hold your money nor acts as trusteee.

Intra fund house switching very fast.

Inter fund switching (transfer for PPA scope) will incur RM 25 fee and obviously takes longer.

Yeah, if RM40 spent on roti and maggi, some can sustain for 1 week.
*
So you're also anxiously waiting for the RM 40 to fill your hunger?
I thought PRS contribution is meant for those who can afford to participate.
Even you're not capable of bringing food to the table for yourself or your family, why even bother to contribute to PRS when everybody out there is lauding to even take money from EPF? blink.gif

Don't tell me that one is contributing to PRS campaign just to get RM 40 to bring food on the table. Sounded very irony right? rclxub.gif

Actually i think its possible for someone who is trying to max out the best of both. Lets just say a person who is qualified for i-sinar currently had set aside enough money to survive until epf money comes in (say by Jan 2021) and has RM3k at hand. Then we look at both scenarios below:-
Scenario 1: Apply epf i-sinar and get RM10k

Total cash at hand: RM3k + RM10k = RM13k (for simplicity let's ignore the sum set aside for survival till Jan 2021)
Total networth: RM10k (epf) + RM3k (cash) = RM13k
Scenario 2: Apply RM3k FSM PRS, get tax relief, RM40 tng and apply epf i-sinar get RM10k

Total cash at hand: RM10k + RM40 = RM10,040
Total networth: RM10k (epf) + RM3k (PRS) + RM40 (tng) + RM 450 (assume 15% tax relief bracket for PRS contribution) = RM13,490

Maybe the investor is looking at the bigger picture to increase overall networth in the long run? My example may sound simplistic and may have errors, but who knows this RM40 is important to survive until the epf money comes in (which this rm40 is part of the budget plan). Or maybe this RM40 if it comes in early is just timely enough without having to liquidate FDs? There are many variables involved which we do not know.

Another e.g a person that have invested in PRS on 1 Dec 2020 may still have a job at that time but suddenly got retrenched at 31 Dec 2020 hence would suddenly need this RM40.

A multi-billionaire may also value RM1 as equally important like a common wage earner.

p/s: purely my views, not trying to start any discussion/debate here but just trying to point out that each and every person's financial/investment decision is unique hence we should not judge purely based on the surface. Anyway guys, take good care of yourself and loved ones during these trying times.
*
So received the RM 40 already?
I'm sure you're dying for it.
What FSM CS reply today?

I dont think its automatic.   The funds are just recommendations based on age.   So you will need to convert it yourself.
*
If you subscribe to the Do it For You plan with the respective PRS provider, they should adjust it for you. Or least they should notify you before adjustment to be executed.
