hi guys,

I read PPA website state there is RM8 for annual fees per provider (not charge in year open acc and no contribution)

I have some question:
Example:
1st year, I buy AMPRS - no RM8 charges correct?
2nd year, I buy AMPRS again, RM8 charges. correct?
3rd year, I buy Principal PRS then they charge RM8 only or RM16 (Rm8 for Principal + RM8 for AMPRS)??
4th year, I dint buy anything no charge correct?

Thanks guys
*
1st year, I buy AMPRS - no RM8 charges correct? No

3rd year, I buy Principal PRS then they charge RM8 only or RM16 (Rm8 for Principal + RM8 for AMPRS)?? No charge for both if buy from Principal or non-AmPRS
4th year, I dint buy anything no charge correct? No

My PRS value has risen and on paper, this gives back about ~20% return.

Do you all sell your PRS ?

With the 8% tax penalty, the return now still looks attractive (>10%) . Been contemplating about selling it
*
Just sell if it's too tempting.

You're not selling at loss.

Last year, there was no tax penalty for PRS withdrawal. It will be great if extended
*
You can withdraw up to certain amount per PRS provider; not full withdrawal.
The amount is so petty compared to the upcoming iSinar 2.0

if bought PRS have to wait until 55 yo? then its too late to withdraw. cant they allow sell and switch fund ?
*
Why can't sell and switch?
You can do it at anytime as long as you can stomach the cost.
There's no strict rule saying that must wait until retirement age.

it will take some time to be updated in FSM. my PRS withdrawal settled few months ago, still showing in FSM.
take a chill pill. dun need everytime screw ppl here and there 1, although u r grumpy.

If one has invested in PRS or unit trust for years, one should know that things are not reflected instantly on the ex-date like shares trading.
It could take up to weeks for all the numbers got synchronized. But I can see improvement last year as it took up to 1 week only. Maybe due to MCO.

Did you actually see me complaining that why new units haven't in yet, why my ROI drop after ex-date, why NAV has such huge drop?

What if

Is withdrawal for emergency such as medical purposes?

Still need to pay the tax penalty or not?
*
Under Pre-Retirement Withdrawal for Healthcare Purposes section:

1. Am I eligible to make withdrawal for healthcare purposes?
Any PRS Member (Malaysian or foreigner) below the age of 55 are eligible to make pre-retirement withdrawals from Sub-Account B for healthcare purposes without the 8% tax penalty, as long as the applicant has been a PRS Member for at least one year.

Then actually is not bad

As they actually exempted this for emergency purpose(medical )

And how about scenario like

Children further studies / buying new houses (downpayment)
Can it be exempted as well?
*
Please read yourself the Withdrawals section at the link given many many times:
https://www.ppa.my/prs-and-you/prs-faq/

There're 4 categories for Pre-Retirement Withdrawal (if you are below 55 years old):
A. Pre-Retirement Withdrawal for General Purposes
B. Pre-Retirement Withdrawal due to Permanent Departure
C. Pre-Retirement Withdrawal for Housing Purposes
D. Pre-Retirement Withdrawal for Healthcare Purposes

Wondering did you guys receive any statement for tax filing?
*
Annual Statement page in PPA portal doesn't show the exact contribution of the year.
But the Contribution page got such info.

I believe the info from this page can be used when audit.
Otherwise, you may also use the order confirmation statement from your PRS provider (fund house) as a proof of purchase.
