QUOTE(familyfirst @ Jul 27 2020, 10:53 AM) So am I correct to say that for the first time buying a particular fund, we have to go thru either FSM or the bank to purchase it and then pay a sales fee if any. And for subsequent years top-up via PPA online, we only pay a fee to PPA and nothing to the fund/bank? Thanks. For all online applications through PRS Online Enrolment, the PPA account opening fee of RM10.00 shall be waived till further notice. For applicants age 30 and below who perform self-enrolment, PRS Providersβ sales charge will be at 0%Better through PPA |

QUOTE(onthefly @ Aug 2 2020, 12:33 AM) seem like 'better' provider have highest sales charge of 3% I don't agree. is it still okay to go with provider with 3% in the long run? Their PRS fund beat others since 2019 only, b4 that..... π I agree with the view of above, long run n one time only is ok, but if every year, make sure every year at least 3% return π |

QUOTE(tehoice @ Aug 4 2020, 10:39 AM) ok fine, got a point. that one immediately got some few hundred bucks back in cash. Good points πbut don't forget also, you cannot withdraw the money until you're 55. so assuming if the tax relief thing is only until 2020 and the gomen didnt extend the tax relief perk. then your money is stuck in there for another dunno how many years. let's throw in a scenario, if you're 30 this year and you can still qualify for the tax relief for the next 2 years. assuming RM3k x 24% tax savings = RM720 per year x 2 = RM1440 for the next 2 years and no more after that. then assume your fund is stuck inside until you're 55, means 55 - 32 = another 23 years to go. assuming the fund only make 3%, or 4% which means you stand to gain 1% p.a. for the next 23 years. wouldn't you be better off in the long run until 55, having your money in the FD with compounding effect than the tax savings + PRS? |

QUOTE(CSW1990 @ Sep 25 2020, 05:29 PM) Anyone here DCA your PRS fund, eg 500 per 2 months, Or most people lump sum during red? I DCA a few months one shot, bcoz bullet no enough. Previously I always lump sum buy 3000 to prsΒ in December This year in this volatile market I plan to buy 1k each in the next three months.. any suggestion? I in if there is a dip, no matter the lowest or not. PRS can't withdraw until u pension. So just believe it will up in long term. If u think market will volatile, just DCA lo, This post has been edited by ironman16: Sep 25 2020, 06:15 PM |

I don't know how u ppl choose.
I definitely will choose the fund with consistent return in each calendar year. Not the highest nvm but consistently give me better return. I don't like low performance previous year but suddenly spike high fund. ### i don't choose Conservative fund. Prefer growth /moderate /equity.
