QUOTE(jerm @ Oct 7 2011, 12:10 PM)
Hi all, according to each separate area, is each one's prices okay?

What cen be cheaper, and usually by how much? (e.g. plaster ceiling 2.50 instead of 3.20)

This is the first quote i have gotten, will also try to get others

[attachmentid=2473017]

Very expensive!!!
Plaster ceiling should not more than 3500 included open the downlight hole.

If you find the kitchen supplier from lowyat here, i think the price can cheaper, maybe 20%!

They charge u too details, example hack the floor RM2.50/sf should included skirting, why need to charge remove skirting RM2/ft!
Remove parquet also RM2.50/sf, u can remove ur own 1 hour.
Transfer of tiles to site is free delivery by tiles shop, unless he want to charge u from lobby to your condo unit. cos the free delivery at condo lobby only.

your quotation is very expensive..lolz..
is it from ID/maincon firm??

for plaster ceiling work, bcoz they provided you 9mm board, so must more expensive then those rm2.3/sqft (bcoz normally that is 6mm thk only)
your unit is condo, if yes then the plaster ceiling is still acceptable. normally landed house charge around rm3.0/sqft

L box have lighting or only plain? if it's lighting L box, then consider reasonable.

For the carpentry, the shoe cabinet cost rm370pfr is consider higher. but the wardrobe is sound ok, is it 8ft height??

You can give your wet work(hacking, tiles, plaster ceiling and wiring) to 1 main con, the rest you can find ur own supplier.

your tiles work is damn expensive, work labour + hacking, somemore exclude tiles ...
Previouly my contractor wihtout hacking already damn expensive with RM5.50, yours like addition RM3....
*NOticed your is RM6 for tiles work + RM2.50 for hacking

But you need to make other adjustment, as the contractor may gain one side to covered other end...

Jerm:

Tip 1:
On the plaster ceiling,
Please tell your contractor to lower down 4'inch instead of 7'inch. It will make your
ceiling look higher. Contractor prefer 7'inch because it makes their job easier and faster.
And when you lower down you ceiling 4'inch only. Makesure your downlight suite the specification.

Tip 2:
Downlight
Please use off-white energy saving by: GE ( Philips also got but not nice ). Their color look better.
Do not: mix warm white and cool white. It make your house look 2 tone.
Downlight casing
Please chose a better quality chsing with geniune powder coat. It make different. Use Square if can.

hm..... to many to share. Maybe if you want to know more please ask me ya.
maybe what I said you already know. Just to share~

Hi all,
Would also like u guys opinion on this 1st quotation i got. Key points:
1. Remove tiles @ RM2.50 per sq ft
2. Install tiles @ RM3.80 per sq ft
3. Painting whole condo - walls and ceilings (approximately 1,500 sq ft): RM3000 (excluding paint)
4. Plaster ceiling: RM5700 (approximately 1,500 sq ft) - need to get more details, i.e. include wiring, installation of downlights, etc

Have also attached the full quotation for reference.

Am surveying a few contractors and this is the first one i got!

Appreciate all feedback!
