dat is not from apple. its just some tech site givin their own assumptions. try lookin at apples past history of releasin updates. Rarely released at midnite. neway everyone is excited. But ill be waitin till d JB is out. cant live without 5icon dock. and SBSetting... sweat.gif

if I install IOS5 on software unlocked iphone 3gs, will it be locked again? I tot ios5 is free for iphone 3gs

If ur phone is unlocked it will remain unlocked. It's not the same for jailbroken phones though.

it is a locked set from AT&T, now I'm sending it to phone shop to unlock it for me, so will it remain unlock when i upgrade to ios5? it's on 4.3.3 thou

Very risky... u could be end up LOCK FOR EVER.. As IOS 5 does upgrade the baseband..

It is free, but if u rely on software unlock, if ios5 updates the baseband then u are locked again, if it uses back the same unlockable baseband, then u are in luck, but to be safe, wait for further confirmatory from ultrasn0w.

thanks for the clarification, i'll wait until redsnow release ios5 jailbreak then, maybe they'll release the unlock tool too biggrin.gif

software unlock tool has been promised since 4.2.1 but until now.. no news... don't put high hope on that in IOS 5.. Since u relay heavy on unlock, wait for Dev team instruction before proceed with IOS5.. Else, you really end up that you phone will be LOCK FOREVER...

Guys, i purchased my ip4 from maxis. Do i need to wait for an unlock or something ? I know there's no need to do so but my college mate told me to wait for an unlock.

maxis is fully unlocked. ur fren is talkin rubbish. unless ur talkin bout JB, den u have to wait coz no JB for iOS5 yet..

no such thing la. unit from maxis, digi and celcom all factory unlock unit. you're safe to update.
