hey guys... I wanna ask about samsung's 400GB hdd sold at pczone. from the pricelist, its RM410 for the SATA. Compared to other 400GB hdd, Seagate for example, its selling for RM800 I think. The price difference is quite huge so I was wondering about the quality of the samsung's 400GB hdd.

About the quality, its depends on luck..

If the hdd want to fault, then it will become faulty..

But prefer western digital...!!

Just to let everyone know (in case they didn't read today's Intech):

Those with WD drives bought from March 2001 - 15 Feb 2006 can claim for free backup software from WD. Might be useful to some.  smile.gif
I just applied for mine. They'll send a link via e-mail.

http://www.wdc.com/settlement.

Valid WD HDD serial number required.

it's a lengthy explanation.. better u googling for exact information u need

anyway, i think this link would be suffice. --> http://www.smartcomputing.com/Editorial/ar.../11w02.asp&guid

CAUTION: when u build a RAID array, the data inside your both harddisks will be overwritten. Therefore u need to backup to another storage space such as another bigger capacity harddisk before build the RAID array.

eh which RAID type u want to build? RAID 0 or RAID 1? anyway there a lot of RAID type. U better googling for more information biggrin.gif
