hang at start up page.. so sad..  cry.gif  cry.gif
*
Try to leave the phone boot up for several minutes, there's a couple of script that run longer than usual in this version which including dalvik management, database defrag and etc. Still if the first boot up process goes on for more than 5 minutes (usually no more than 2 - 3 minutes on my phone) or the boot animation hangs. Try reboot and if it's still hangs then try wiping dalvik for a fresh one, or reflash after wiping all including dalvik.

Owh and by special room you mean? I work anywhere if I want to tongue.gif With my phone and my laptop. Having a PC desktop does have all the power I need, but doesn't give me portability.

@all

Thanks, biggrin.gif

Do note that the ROM is still BAREBONE, which me it doesn't have all the features that the final version have, and it is still basically a Cyanogenmod ROM. sad.gif

The beta release is basically to test all the internal system part, performance, stability and so on. feel free to change all the apks on the system before install, only the APK though, for a proper feedback,

@angelictears

Already tested, this is my report (dont angry on me, i juz giv an honest report)

Tested from cm 7.2.0 RC0, boot too long (using recovery 4.0.0.8 and 5.0.2.7)

Tested from cm7.2.0 RC1 v1 boot too long (using both recovery ver)

Tested from cm7.1.0 boot too long (using 4.0.0.8)

Tested from cm7.0.2 boot too long (using 2.5.1.3)

Tested from cm nightly build, boot too long (using 2.5.1.3)

Tested from RC1 build 06042012 boot too long (using both recovery ver)

Tested from eav6, 7, still boot too long. and still is it me or there is no gapps installed? (using 2.5.1.3 n 4.0.0.8)

Tested from eav7.2 final (nbo file), still boot too long, i dont know what da cost (4.0.0.8)

Tested using sparks kernel, no boot loop but rom cannot contain it. same error occur when flashing on GAIA v1.1

Tested using edgar both .35 n .32 kernel, no boot loop but still too long to boot.

tested from phantom rom both sky rev and phantom rev3b, dont hope to boot. nothing happen smile.gif

Tested from cm7.2.0 rc1 v2, still boot too long. (5.0.2.7)

Tested from cm miui modded rom, no luck on it. (5.0.2.7)

Tested from eclair, and still boot too long, dont want to wait, i just pass on it. (2.5.1.3)

even second and third reboot takes a lot of time on all testing.

Counting da reboot time almost 10 minute, for those who stuck at boot, juz wait and wait. it will load da rom.

Anyway, improvement on eav7 is da reboot will get about 2 minute earlier

Anyway it still beta so try ur best. wink.gif

Here a screenshot of da bug appeared when reached da rom

Added on April 12, 2012, 1:39 amspecial room or special ROM? by means mr tahawk?

Added on April 12, 2012, 1:41 amanyway, to enable diag port, juz combo da green and power or green red and power.

Added on April 12, 2012, 1:46 ambout da stability, system performance, runs like hell (i means good, didnt ghost rider comes from hell wink.gif ) with da given kernel, no error on oc and da battery, no comment coz i know what rmcc@tenkian gives on da kernel. all da apk can be changes by permission but it will takes lots of times to reboot after it. Tested with other kernel as well, maybe its still a soup so nothing changes. anyway. dont forget to change da boot animation smile.gif mr angelictears. 3 times i edit my reply for this time so this is da conclusion.

Good kernel and system stability but quite dissapoint on performance, but i can adjust it according my settings on my own so no problem on that.

Added on April 12, 2012, 1:49 amso....i wanna rest my mi3 for a moment while waiting on da real GAIA kickin. tongue.gif

Added on April 12, 2012, 1:53 amI think i dont hav to tell u whats da result flashing from GAIA v1.1 right?

Thanks for the feedback.

Seems like there are several cause for the bugs.

One I messed up on the UI section for being transparent instead of being Translucent. And I messed up the script sad.gif

Other than that there are several bugs that I think originate from the source itself, I try to fix the issue ASAP.

Also try this quick fix for the slow boot up / hangs. Open up the ROM zip, find system/etc/init.d folder within the zip, delete the 9xdefragger file (x refers to the number, I forgot which number, but just delete a file name defragger) and reflash the ROM with all the basic wipe.

This beta is just a system demo, there is no new splash screen, no bootanimation and no extra, just pure build from Cyanogenmod Source with some of my code included. Be sure that the RC / Final release will have all features plus extras that you familiar in Gaia ROM. smile.gif

@angelictears

no sweat bout it, its just a report, promise is promise, i hav promised to test it for u wink.gif

*laugh* its a beta, expected da bug, dont worry much, juz kill da annoying buggies smile.gif

fone hang? none of that error occur on all test, its just slow boot. anyway all those test including waiting to reboot take 5 hours to completed, really interesting

defragger?! so thats da cause? boot too long indeed an annoying disturbance, but thanks to that my sd can be use again. smile.gif

anyway, for a long time i ve been reseaching on sd ext on sd, da conclusion is, anyone here who hav sd below class 6 are discourage to used s2e not to say included da swap neither swapper or linux swap, its wrecking ur sd.

for those who use da #112 or #194, i advise u all to stop oc on that kernel, its not damaging ur device, its killing it.used it on default basis

dont be sad on da messed script, juz fix it n its gone, anyway, release da second beta and i ll be willing to test it on all released rom out there, but i prefer nbo over zip, but thats just me.

ps.

my fone already on max stated, really in good health, (applying compound liquid on da heatsink sure helping wink.gif ) so bring it on.

Added on April 12, 2012, 4:07 pmlast but not least, thanks for da rmcc kernel, i managed to take da script but dont know how compiled it. thats what i call stability over performance, but i think adding lagfree script n smartassv2 on da kernel will really be helping. lagfree v3 script avail on xda

Thanks biggrin.gif

About the script, you can just open the zip with 7z or winrar and look to the file, delete it and close it, and you ready to roll. The positive side of CMW zip is that users can easily edit the contents without waiting developers release a ROM, much like the nb0, users can't edit the ROM, even as simple as deleting script. smile.gif

All and all, I will fix the ROM later on, hopefully I can hack surrounding wifi networks tongue.gif Opps,

All and all, I will try the best for this release, just finish some art works for Gaia 1.2.

See ya guys later smile.gif

I'm quite surprise though DiGi took the first move on selling One X, one of the most anticipated device out there now. Since it can easily beat Galaxy Nexus though lack of expandable memory hold me down a bit. sad.gif
I do quite agree, DiGi plans are expensive with all the charges and interest, imo it's better off buying an unlocked version then on contract.

I do however planning to buy my personal phone, and GS2 still on top of the list, but I'll wait smile.gif

Also I am thinking on opening up a Google code project page, or other similar for easier bug tracking / bug report, for both advance and beginner users.

Indeed, I were once a postpaid plan users not long ago, well let's just say that payment per month is more then what I expected.

Indeed, SGS3 is quite a superphone, though I am not a big fan of touchwiz, still, with custom ROM available, the performance will fly, let's just hope that Samsung jump off from the dual core world. Still it will certainly broke a hole in my pocket tongue.gif I will be comfortable with a SGS2 once the price drop later on smile.gif though still considering.

Google code page is a platform basically, much like github, still Google code integrate well with Github and Gerrit. With features such as wiki and issue tracking platform, though I admit google code API is getting older. An example for a Google code page is the one that Cyanogenmod once used. http://code.google.com/p/cyanogenmod/issues/list

Really? Actually i ve been using these postpaid ever since i at high school, quite long considering my age now, since 2k, when in school my parent pay for da bill but starting i m in university i paid it myself so, for first time, its quite expansive but when u re used to it then its nothing. Paying $60 for 3G data, plus free call by whatsapp/skype n emailing n fb or messenger using direct data anywhere, i rarely pay my call n sms to service provider, except roaming. So its killing 2 bird with one stone isnt it, but thats just me wink.gif

anyway, i hope u success slaughtering those buggies.. my fone been itching to test it tongue.gif so good luck on it. wink.gif

I have problem with Gaia 1.1.0 recently. The touch screen sometime (quite often recently) not responding. I need to restart, unplug the battery for few times. Also when I want to read sms, when I touch the top (1st sms), the bottom one will open. Same goes to any screen when there are choices/ buttons/ lists/ etc, the bottom thing will be chosen. The other thing is when press menu key, instead of the menu list, the keyboard will appear.

Can I go into recovery mode in Clockworkmod to reinstall Gaia rom? I think all my data will gone right? Will I lost the IMEI too?

Pls help. Thanks.

It seems like a kernel issue, try to flash another kernel to see if problem persist. If yes, a reflash is not necessary. Try to wipe dalvik and reboot, if the problem is still there, then try full wipe, which indeed will delete all your data including internal memory app. Be sure to do a titanium backup and a nandroid backup just in case.

A quick notice, I will be renaming Gaia 1.2.0 to Gaia 2, which in coming soon release will be Gaia 2.0.1.

Owh here's some screenies from beta 2 of Gaia 2.0.1

I had tried flashing few kernel but still having the same problem. Well, seems like no choice but have to do full wipe and see whether can solve the problem or not.

Thanks for the feedback biggrin.gif

Does the status bar show any error like force close or something? Try installing other theme such as Lunar UI or etc to see if translucent is there or not. If not, flash the file below, sorry about that sad.gif

EDIT : Seems like I did put the wrong systemUI.apk file into the ROM, sory1000x sweat.gif
Download the patch above, flash it after flashing Gaia 2 preview. again sorry all smile.gif
