Same thing happened to me last year. End call button was non-responsive too.
I disassembled the phone completely using the guide in boston-mania.blogspot.com and cleaned it thoroughly to remove any oxidation caused by contact with water. Reconnected every cable and everything works alright, even the end call button.

Have tried kernel-cm-7.2.0-RC1-z71-aPT-v2-#112.zip. Screen keeps blinking and not responsive. Seems not compatible to MYGingerB.

Have to revert back the kernel.

somehow....

no one can apply da kernel. hmm.gif

thanks 4 da report, anyway, mygingerb really cannot adapt da new kernel. Gotta wait for mr angelictears new rom

So guys, make sure to support mr angelictears.

And for mr angelictears. when will ur rom be out?

Anyway, for those who try and fail, no need to apply da kernel, i end up repairing my mi300, restoring modem rev, temperature turn up to be 95 C, and my tiny mi really cannot suppress da kernel and end up quite pitiful, coz trying to adapt da kernel by force. Juz use da kernel provided by edgar

Sorry for not replying, thought no one would be interested and this thread somehow so quiet for a while. So i tend to forgot how to log in recently. tongue.gif

Added on April 9, 2012, 3:43 amanyway for those who wanna use da damn kernel, change ur rom to c,7.2 from fagulhas, make sure its v2, find it urself, as usual, no SPOONFEED will be provided, juz google it.

Added on April 9, 2012, 3:45 amand its not like i m promoting mr fagulhas rom here, this is android we talking about, and its open source, i still waiting for mr angelictears rom to comes out, but it take like.....forever to wait.

Added on April 9, 2012, 3:47 ambefore i forgot, make sure to change ur modem rev to needed number before flashing cm7.2 rc1 v2, dont want anyone fone ended up like me.....sitting on da death bed waiting to be dissected.

hi there all biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Well first of all I am sorry for the delay, I have some most important urgent super duper emergency. Plus I am away from home, so connection is limited pushing me to pay for mobile broadband.

There are several notes that I am delayed to write because of the connection problem.

- Kernel changes are in planning, from start, the default kernel will not be 2.6.35.13 EA , but will be change to 2.6.35.13 Cyanogenmod rmcc@tenkian #2 , which is the default kernel for z71 7.2.0 RC0, overall testing shows that power efficient up tp 40% more battery life per charge compared to other 2.6.35.x kernel, of course legacy 2.6.32.x will be included as separate download (which still in the process of determine the best one for Gaia 1.2.0)

- Due to limited connection, I have not been able to upload several beta test builds, but will be able to upload it this tuesday since I am going home that day.

Overall thanks for your support. biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

@Rudd

No need to change da modem rev, juz use ur rev rev, its for those who need, mi300 doesnt need it. Anyway, read mr angelictears notes above, u just dont know what mr angelictears been doing for u guys. The info that he gives above much more better than my suggestion before.

Thanks. biggrin.gif

I've been eagerly wanting to test Cyanogenmod default kernel since last year, but 7.1.0 kernel have several issues like touch driver and so on kept me away from it, but the RC0 kernel is much much better than previous kernel and i have to say I am eagerly waiting for the final product biggrin.gif

So far that's the most stable kernel I've seen so far, with just 1 kernel panic in 1 week testing, maybe due to several priority script testing I've done so far. The only downside that I see is the overclock limit of 768MHz only, though for now, 2.6.35.x kernel with that stability is too hard to pass on. Compared to other kernel :

- 2.6.35.13 EA kernel : Full featured with wireless tethering enabled, lowest stability capability with several crashes specially when overclock and downright power hungry.

- 2.6.35.14 Ubuntu # kernel : Full featured with wireless tethering enabled, average stability, still power hungry.

- 2.6.35.13 cyanogenmod rmcc@tenkian #2 : Full featured, outstanding stability even when OC'd, all Android feature is enabled and almost 120% more power efficient than other 2.6.35.x kernel out there (with 12 - 20 hrs depending usage on standard CSL 1230 MAh battery).

So far, status bar have been change to translucent from source, so MIUI like status bar should give a little uplift to the "almost" legacy Gingerbread UI. Do note that it's still on testing, so I do hope users test the beta when it's uploaded later this week (I know, it's been delay again and again, but I do want to make this perfect, as I am taking a long holiday after 1.2.0 release, and even concentrate on ICS)

I do notice there is a release on MIUI port at boston mania. I have to say I have done that but not release it as it is too buggy, done from a LG p500 or Optimus One as all might know MIUI rom port, it work well, but several features such as outdated package (original MIUI 1.x) and theme cant be change (both lock screen and UI) kept me from releasing it tongue.gif , overall it is a good experiment.

All and all, look up at my twitter for the release announcement by this week if all goes well. Keep up the support and cheers smile.gif

Note : I'll be taking a long break after 1.2.0 release, concentrating on several other projects, due to Qualcomm recent release of ARMv6 Adreno 2xx GPU for ICS, I will also concentrating on ICS for z71, still no matter what you read on the net, don't keep your hopes high, ICS is a great OS, still it requires at least 512mb of RAM, that said several workround have been developed such as swap, memory extension on SD (same as a2sd where internal and external memory combine into one) and so on. I will also be concentrating on a new device (given the budget is enough), and back porting ICS features to gingerbread where applicable. That plus promoting brand to several parties (my project brand such as MyGingerbread Gaia, Sherry Graphics Driver and so on), minor face lift to several blog and upcoming all in one portal website so users can have easy access to all my project. smile.gif

@angelictears

Its up to u what kernel should be major on GAIA, decide and carry on. Actually, my mr mi300 in resting, maybe for a long time...but i ll reactivate it for ur guide on da next generation of GAIA testing (maybe it ll be its last device standing test) coz i kinda realize after reparting my mr mi3 (my fone nickname wink.gif ) part, da IC kinda burn out in most of da its 'legs', i cannot enter recovery/fastboot and master reset by combo button, but i can enter download mode by striking da ic with a shock, so... maybe i cannot be using it anymore after this. Its a result of too much testing on GAIA old gen based on new kernel n new rom release recently(twice a day flashing for this whole 3 weeks)

But i ll activate it juz for ur GAIA testing and i ll make a good guide for it. Even an amateur can understand it wink.gif

So......make an android miracle for Malaysian

Guess i need to save a lil bit money for new device.... sweat.gif

Anyway, i question for u, before my mi3 damaged recently, i reboot and it say 'enter diag port' what does it means?
is it some kind of self repairing system? turn out after that my mi3 doesnt display anything but after a while its rebooting and back to normal. Any suggestion or opinion on this? hmm.gif

Added on April 11, 2012, 4:52 ami forgot, to tell, my result after testing ur old GAIA with da spark kernel (fagulhas if u not familiar) #1++ turn out to be fatal problem on mi3. Da rom cannot or lets say its impossible for da rom to contain it. I heard u ll releasing zwei version of GAIA regarding different kernel .35 n .32 so take a look on this error first. I dont one anyone who too eager to test it and end up shortening da IC life.

Curiosity doesnt kill a cat in this case, its killing ur pocket wink.gif

Added on April 11, 2012, 4:55 amAnd bout da new adreno driver for ics, (dont angry at me wink.gif ) i also tried to adapt on ur GAIA (crazy test) and its turn out to be a real failure. Dont know why but i really crazy bout researching and testing.

Added on April 11, 2012, 5:02 ami know this is off topic but, bout da version '1.2.0' i think its too long to pronounce, how bout called it v2.0 ? its a new generation anyway smile.gif , but its juz me.....

I do advice users to not touch any newly released kernel without waiting 2 or 3 days for other users review. Since most people forget that kernel is running on top of the hardware itself and no other software can control it, more likely software, let say OS depends on the kernel to work and not control it.

Fugalhas kernel is indeed awesome but most likely will push hardware beyond the limit, kernel does not only control CPU, but the whole IC / some say mobo process, either it's bus or storage devices.

That said, it's not the ROM fault imo, it's the kernel fault,OS has nothing to do to hardware operation, it can only instruct or tell a request to kernel to do a thing to hardware, let say overclocking. I have look little on this problem, it seem that the bus overclock reach a certain level that is "harmful" to the hardware, but I'm not sure about that.

Diag port if I am not mistaken is a port used on several android recovery process, sit on top of bootloader/bios. Other than that there are little know on that since "diag port" enabled chipsets are almost legacy now, though foxconn does a great job on including it on the chip since that port is only used on critical situation, mostly critical hardware failure.

I am sorry for your phone, I am also thinking on a new phone, one that I used often, since having a stable phone for development can be a troublesome. That said, Gaia 1.2.0 beta01 is uploading right now, if there's no problem on connection, mobile prepaid internet sucks sometime.

Note that this is a barebone system with most of the default Cyanogenmod source build, without any modified app package, while beta, it is safe to assume that it is safe to use for everyday usage. That said, please backup with titanium backup / nandroid backup from Rom manager before flashing. (to any users, please test theme that has transparency such as lunarUI to check transparency capabilities)

The adreno 2xx driver for me doesn't really useful for Gingerbread, only ICS as there are pretty much more improvements on ARMv6 devices running on ICS, like the LG p500 for example, nevertheless, I'd like to see a Gingerbread update too, though in this age, device like z71 won't last long

All in all, I will post the link after the upload is done
