Hi,
I have checked the s380 at Harvey Norman, the fw stated as m06.r.579. And for the s485 model the fw is m07.r.609. Just to check whether both models are free from cinnavia. Thanks.
*
U can check frm the list I gv earlier. But I guess the S485 is Cinavia compliant.

Try check out Desa @ 1U for the S485 unit which I head is selling at RM499. Not sure if it's Cinavia compliant.

The list is missing firmware version for Sony BDP-S380, Philips BDP3200, BDP3300....these few bluray players are quite common in the market......anyone can share the firmware version which is non-CINAVIA compliant?

thanks!

Sony BDP S485 which has good ratings & reasonable price player. I got it at @ RM499. Since its a bargain, I got 2nd unit as spare.. Really ...no regret as the price for this old model is high in demand & am lucky as it was not Cinavia comply. Now good price is RM599 at many stores. Originally is RM799 me heard.

Mind telling us what's the firm ware no. Thanks

No..I'm from Ipoh. Just happen to see it while shop there. Donno if it's Desa or something. Remember near a video outlet at new wing. Remember it's few shops away from Bosini.

My current Sony Player firmware is as u mentioned & yes, it's not infected.

philips bdp cannot match up sony in terms of playability IMO, servo is a bit noisy even when running ori bd-rom, doesn't boot BD-R properly sometimes you need to cycle 3-5 times to get it to work. i prefer the smoother sony.

For share - this unit have 2 HDMI output
Sony BDP-790
Is there any user of this player, I asked the sales assistant, since there is no button on the player, so how do I control the unit, then he told me everything is under control by the remote control. Is it true?
*
the s790 has touch buttons at the top of the unit:

left hand side top > on/off touch button

right hand side top > eject, stop & play lighted buttons

u can also download sony's media remote for android & ios phones/tablets to control the s790 via wifi connection. i enjoy controlling the s790 & tv via my ipad, no need line of sight smile.gif

two good bdp that supports 2hdmi outputs :

sony s790

panasonic bdt500

if u buy from spore, about s$499 for the s790, the bdt500 about the same price, klang valley can't find the models at all

some of the newer tvs have audio relay control on their hdmi2, u can connect an hdmi out from the tv to an older amp.
*
Any where locally can get them?

How can I check if the tv can by-pass the audio out?

hi need advise from anyone who knows about home theater system...
I hooked up my Sony blu ray player s485 to my Dennon amp...and when i was playing bluray movies with DTS HD M audio,
how come i don't see the DTS HD MA appear on the amp screen but instead the surround sound is stated MULTI IN.
What does it mean? Does this means that its already DTS HD MA.

Before this i was using my PS3 to connect into the amp..and usually it will auto detect the surround sound and the DTS HD Master will appear instantly on the amp screen when the movie starts.

Just wpndering is there any prob with my player or system? or its meant to be MULTI IN since the player has DTS HD... ..

Any Bros here can help out....

Thanks!

the s790 is now listed on sony malaysia website for rm1099, maybe u can get them at the sony centres.

yr tv manual should state whether u have ARC or not. my panney vt50 has ARC via hdmi2, tried to get it to work with my old onkyo 807, but failed ... most probably, the 807 doesn't support ARC sad.gif

looks like the BD player was set to decode the audio instead of letting the AVR to decode. audio settings can be changed in the BD player.

leave the dts audio on as DTS

u have to select BIT_STREAM output via HDMI to the receiver
