Found S-485 last unit with FW M7R.0263 @ RM599. Took it.
Now any idea if this FW should be upgraded to M7R.0427? And how?

No. Only play region A. But at Amz UK u can buy Region Free disc. It's still cheaper than US.

Anyway, if u can find any player that can play all region bluray at that price & free from Cinavia, do let us know. This is BIG news than.

it‘s not abt the price now, only those old stock bluray player (with old firmware) dont have CINAVIA problem.

new 2012 model, or old 2011 model but new stock all got CINAVIA issue.

either spend More time/efford looking for old stock, or dont Buy now, wait for china-fella come out with CINAVIA-free player next time

Sony S-190 is going for an amazing RM299.00. Great playability, but it may be cinavia compliant.

I found the update file to firmware version M7R.0427 for the S-485.

You can download it and update your player... AT YOUR OWN RISK. Please share your result here.

Sony Playstation 3.
Still the best bang for buck, can play game + DVD & BLURAY movies on it for just around RM900 now.
What else can you ask?

How does one test for cinavia? Am looking at Panasonic bdt220. Does anyone know if this is "infected"?
Thanks

Has anyone tried a region free hack for blu ray discs?
