We have to consider that it's more likely for local products to come through when your club is cash strapped as Everton is. I'm doubtful if either will feature regularly for a top side.

As for taking the piss out of our friendly against Rangers, any organism with some semblance of intellect would have noted the following :-

1) It was a friendly. Why risk injury with a game looming this weekend?
2) It featured mostly fringe players or those returning from injury.
3) It was two clubs coming together to raise funds for two disasters at Hillsborough and Ibrox, not a Champions League match. Anyone who criticises the nature of this match is either ignorant, or disrespecting the lives that were lost, or both.

All things said and done, it isn't even an argument I'd bother getting into. If we had won, they'd have used the same reasons I gave above against us. Always helps to be able to predict the outcome of an argument even before it begins.

Duke, or any old timers, may I ask in King Kenny's first stint, was he a rotation based manager? or more to a man-management, same-11 players style of a manager?

back then the first 11 was pretty consistent, regardless of who the manager was.
players ewre also tougher then, one who had broken shoulder was still on the pitch etc...but also cos the sub had been used so cannot sub out tongue.gif
nowadays, some players one little cut on the shin and he cries like a girl.

just for the sake of common knowledge of the history of football, can someone enlighten me with the current issue regarding the hillsborough disaster?

I mean i know about the disaster and all, but what is the current debate in the parliament about? Something about uncovering documents and being transparent, does that mean many are believing there is more than just an accidental disaster, perhaps a conspiracy here?

The police shift blame to the fans and the fans shifts blame to the police.
I doubt theres any conspiracy as in the deaths were planned and all... but I think its more that the police hid from the public several information (MAYBE for example expert reports that the stand was safe or of regulation built, im only speculating).

I would think it would involve the covering up of documents or reports by experts.

I dont know, im quite sleepy now. biggrin.gif

ah, that would explain the request for the documentations to be made public, so it can be analyzed transparently without any sides covering unwanted stories. Would be interesting to know in more detail about what exactly happened and reported.

Hopefully this will make things clear and the family members of the victims can finally move on with a sense of closure. Justice to the 96 indeed then.

Thanks guys!

The recent debate was for the government to release all documents in relation to Hillsborough to the families. For 22 years there has been a major cover up in terms of what happened during the day. 96 lives were lost and yet uptil now no one is held accountable for it. Since the moment the tragedy struck, the authorities (FA, South Yorkshire Police, the cabinet) have been spinning web of lies to absolve themselves of any responsibility.

THE FANS DID NOT CAUSE THE TRAGEDY. Lies has been told so often throughout the years by those with vested interest. The release of all documents is only the beginning of the fight. The truth might come out but justice has yet to be served. This is not the beginning of the end but rather the end of the beginning.

Never mind la, at least got Europa League. Oops.
