Was wondering...anyone actually using this as a primary phone ?? For everyday use...including calls...etc.etc.. ?? Hows the experience? hahah!! Cos i thought of using it as my main phone...

am currently using the tab 7 plus as my primary phone now. but am planning to buy SEXS (that is sony ericsson xperia s, mind u ) later when it is released. of coz i dont really put the tab to my ear to talk...i am always connected to a bluetooth headset when taking/making calls.

previously i use it as my primary phone. now i use prepaid (with data plan) inside thins phone, but no more as primary phone already... use it to call once a while only.

i am using it as primary phone. cannot sms while driving, even difficult to make a call. other than that i enjoy this tab. i am thinking to get another hp as a primary hp.

another wrong perception.

If your tablets takes up 20% battery over night. That means you are running something in the background. You should also turn off bluetooth, 3g/edge, wifi and so on it you don't need them to be running at night. Or the tablet is just lousy. Majority of the phone or tablet's battery usage is on the screen. When it is in sleep mode, screen is blank and battery usage would be at minimum.

Tablet need to sleep? Yeah...sleep is not equal to power off. When you leave it idle, it go to sleep.

Tablets/smartphones are designed to turn on 24/7 under standby mode. When you say gadget's life become shorter, do you mean the battery or other parts? If you mean battery then you are wrong again. Modern ion-lithium battery does not have "memory effect" when it comes to keeping charge. It is designed to last around 2-3 years. Even if you turn the component OFF, it will still last that long only. It doesn't help to prolong the battery if you always keep your device OFF.

Battery isn't main issue, the main issue is the chip, board, the other component, your phone not a macbook!

Macbook got sleep mode can completely turn off all apps...

maybe you're just act like pro and didn't realize that in mobile OS, some app still running even u turn off the screen and those app is hidden and can't kill by any background killer app....

When u turn off the screen but the app still running means some component in your phone still working

to me battery life will be based on how u use it. when i am in gaming mode, the battery can last for around 9-10 hours or so before drain to 5-10%, this is coupled with internet browsing over the wifi. but now with very little time on gaming and web browsing and mostly just on 2g (call n sms), the battery seem to survive almost 2 days & 6 hours with battery left 30%, which is i think is very good i am on the latest firmware update. samsung might have somehow fix the battery mgmt. who knows

any tips on getting longer battry life?

previously when i use this tab as my primary phone, from 830am (100%) , makes call, sms, whatsapp, like to wifi in the office, surf net using this, around 1 hours in total, 3g when lunch. 8pm battery will left 20-15%. gam gam can last until i want goto sleep.


now as as secondary phone... until night still got 30% ++... but still i will jsut let it full charge when i sleep...

where you get those infos? from what i know sleep mode functions just off ur LED light but background apps still working as usual in standy mode.
if totally off those apps, that macbook surely look like restart back when u switching it off.

Overall, worth it... only RM 26 if purchased directly from eBay. Took 1 week to arrive from HK.

I plan to stick an old iPad external backup battery pack to the reader for portability.
