One of the many reasons why I would never go to Apple = Swype.

can the swype bundled with sgs2 be updated with the latest version from swype web site or is it to be updated with samsung customized swype version only?

Haha. Ppl says both G n non G are more or less similar in terms of performance. But as for me, I do proud to own non G set too. Haha. Though I decide to revert back to stock rom. But still its great.

So does it mean that version G cannot customize the rom? What i understand is the non-g is unable to apply on g version. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Any limitation for version G? I really like the white version T__T

Not meant for u. Just for others. If u follow this thread everyday, sure will realise a number of ppl arguing about this n that. Haha. For me I'm neutral, though I don like overheating issue plus low battery juice. Hope that battery capacity shall increased to 3000mAh with same slimness in short.

Plus no overheating issue :-)

I bought Swiftkey X and I really like the prediction it really makes me type less and less, what I do is just tap on the center prediction.
However the layout need an overhaul, when typing rapidly I keep hitting comma instead of spacebar doh.gif

I prefer big button like the Samsung keypad.

what performance? SGS2 has been always the SCREEN, thing people see first is SCREEN and how they judge also based on SCREEN, some will wow so nice colours/so bright/so big! and nobody gives a shit about dual core or gpu unless they remember sgs2 advertisement. So ipong with their small scree, i see once lazy wan see ad, so SMALL, colours so DULL, and what's worst, most of them put the matte sp, retina display also become matte display ad la! . That being said, i'm still a very proud owner of the limited edition non-g version  tongue.gif  quad core Mali-400 GPU

~~lol~~
psstt..destEX, don't talk too technical otherwise some ppl won't understand one. Like quad core Mali-400 GPU.
Then they will go huhh., what quad core? It's dual-core lor. Their brain too small to differentiate between GPU and CPU :-)

swype is better for the speed. but for accuracy, i personally prefer thumb keyboard biggrin.gif

There is no custom roms for G version YET, but there's high chances of them being rolled out in near future since the non G variant contributes to a significant sales volume, considering some asian countries are getting it too.

Apart from the availability of custom roms, there's no practical limitation, everything is just the same.
I won't even go to the cpu and gpu comparison part. For me it's BS, no offence.
Once again, just get it or you might wanna wait for other super phones that will be made available in couple months of time. But whether non G or G, SGS2 is still an amazing phone and i really can't stress this enough.

Actually using any keyboard is okay once you adapt with it. The longer you use the faster and smoother you type

Hi,

Just got a Galaxy White today. Wanting to ask, Custom's ROM such as Lightning, are these not supported by i9000G and we have to use any of these 3 only:

XME DZKI1, Stock kerne or CHN ZCKH?

If so, which of these 3 are better in terms of stability and fast?

The rooting link on the first page has the description of i9000. Therefore, does it apply to i9000G as well?

You really need custom roms meh.? G version can be rooted already so a lots of thing can be tweak already. Regarding custom roms, sooner or later it will come though i don't put too much hope on it as most established developers is using the non G version. Unless somebody gave/lend them a G version phone, i don't thing they will buy new G version just to make roms.

I'm on stock KI1, don't see any significant difference between it and the KH4. but do take this with a grain of salt as i have only used KH4 for a day.

But do bear in mind that the 3 that u mentioned are kernels, not roms. read page 1 for differences between rom and kernels.

And yes the rooting method is the same, you just have to make sure that you are flashing the correct kernel to prevent bricking your phone.

Here's a thread where u can find insecure kernels for rooting
