Would like to add on to your reply. Better quality product together with better quality drill bits and some test drilling will help to do the job better, faster and safer. thumbup.gif

Hi all, really good thread here. Gained a lot of things & knowledge about power tool especially hammer drill. Currently own Dewalt DCD710 cordless drill & Bosch impact drill, serve me well as a DIY user. Kind of interested to have hammer drill after read here, especially with 3 modes function. Based on here, Bosch GBH 2-26 are favorite choices, and Makita HR2470 as well. how bout other brand? Dewalt? Hitachi? Hilti? care to share other models as well as price range?

Bosch and makita should have no problem with service. Can send to most of the hardware shop for service.

For hilti, a bit specialist. Since their product more for industrial and contruction. Their main office is in subang ss13.

thanks Eng_Tat for the info smile.gif

Makita 2810 (like a TS owned) seem good choice. I like the L shaped design, but pricey (6xx to 7xx) & heavier (3.2kg) sad.gif
Wonder is really heavy compare to other hammer drill state above...

Nice tools. Thaught it rotate.

Non ferros means not metal type. Like copper pipe. Cause it softer than steel. GI or steel pipe cannot be cut.

For GI pipe, use the roller cutter. Easy, faster and cleaner cut.

Plumber using this roller cutter to cut GI pipe. Nobody use hacksaw. Unless too short. I have the small 1 for copper pipe and smaller gi pipe.

The cutter have a roller blade which you press against the pipe. Than roll a few round. Turn the knob to press again the roller blade to the pipe. And roll again. Till the pipe cut into 2pcs.

This kind roller cutter is easy to use and learn. No need brain it. Just few minute learn and you are expert.

PVC no need like that cut lah. PVC use cutter like oversize scissor. But cheaper just with hacksaw.

Got so cheap? Makesure the roller cutter is hard and sharp. This price look like from china made. I doubt the cutter quality.

If you intend to cut bigger size pipe, you need to get the bigger size which longer handle. Otherwise you need 2x the energy to roll the cutter along the pipe.
