If the price can be rm100 or more cheaper than skil, n built quality as good, then might consider.

Now the tech is goin towards high voltage 18v cordless, these china brand don't even have one cordless....

hey guys

any of you used.. angle grinder to cut wood before ?

cause i want to perform this task "to trim the bottom of the door frame so that i can cement it up, as my door has been changed to the PVC door"

and the bottom part of the door frame is wood, thus i need a way to cut the door frame eg 5 inch from the bottom so that i can replace that section with cement...

to prevent it from rotting.. actually its already rotting a section already smile.gif

Yes, you can cut wood with angle girder with proper attachment accessories.
You need to use the circular saw blade (dedicated for wood) or multi cutting wheel like this one.

Most angle grinder rotates at 11k RPM, quite hard to control and cut perfect line. At that high RPM, it's quite dangerous too! sweat.gif
To overcome this issue, you can use angle grinder with variable speed control (e.g.: Bosch GWS 7-100 ET Professional) and cut at lower RPM.

If you want to cut bottom part of the door wood frame, you can't use angle girder due to access limit of cutting disc.
Proper tool to perform the task is by using the oscillating power tool.

Video for your reference. Skip to 2:19 for your cutting application. thumbup.gif

how to use jig saw... ? it can't cut through as the backed of the wood frame is the cement wall

angle grinder is cause can cut fast i guess looking for cheap and easy way to cut..

the osci multi tool looks "nice" how sure how durable those blades are..

the wood cutting they all cut all those soft wood, not those hard wood where if u dont drill a hole and u hammer or screw the wood will splinter/cracked those type of hardware not sure if the blades can cut it or not

my bad, i misread ur post.. tongue.gif

u wana cut the frame.., best way i think is to remove the pvc door first...
then u can actually use hand saw to do the job, yes hard wood will take some time,
angle grinder can, frame oni mar... cut til max dept of disc then finish off using hand saw lor biggrin.gif
just make sure let the disc cool a bit dun cut continuously for too long ( scare over heat)

Sorry. Didn't see you require cordless.

Don't look for cordless. Expensive and no power. You keep charging and slow down your work. Go for wired.
