Yup, the mechanical is different.

The bosch GRE16RE cost RM376. Makita cost around RM485. No big different.

I brought the bosch because of smaller size. Can drill on tighter space.

Lucky the Makita still can go in to the TV cabinet tighter space. Otherwise I will cry continue using the bosch to drill. cry.gif
*
Looking at GSB16RE picture in Lazada, it comes with so many accessories sure it will be more expensive.
I believe Makita comes with just the rotary hammer?

Check at SenQ few model.

Attract to Dyson model. But price is expensive. Not the silent wan. Around 100db. But accessory is more complete.

The most silent is the LG handheld. Around 83db. But less suction power. Not so versatile using and lack of accessory. Not cheap also.

The rest like Electrolux, Panasonic etc, is very noisy.

All is built in battery with require to charge.

There is no use for me if it noisy. Even it can change battery or can fly. I still can't use it at night.
*
100db? shocking.gif Thats the sound level of my table saw already.

How you get info of the loudness? Is it printed on the product info?

Download the DB apps into your HP.

I feel like different frequency pitch given out different db even it not loud. I wonder frequency will cause db high/low.

I measure my Hitachi 2300w vacuum in low mode. Given out about 90+db.
*
What app name you used? I download one and it seems like peak at 76db which is way too low.

Hmm... The B&D RM679 multihead should be ok for light DIY work.
If the package includes all the heads shown on the pic.
From the left side (I think)
1) Impact driver
2) Drill
3) Hammer drill
4) Jigsaw
5) Ironing head? biggrin.gif I think is triangle sander.
6) No idea what is the last head. Ok, this is the oscilating head.

After 15 years, my dremel finally can come out from store room and hang in proper space to serve.
Eh... why portrait pic always show in wrong orientation?
Attached Image

Bought my first Makita product today. thumbup.gif
Did some comparison between palm routers available in Malaysia and choose Makita because:
1) Adjustable speed.
2) has many attachments. Plunge base, fix base, tilt base, 2 type of dust collections, guide.
3) Accepts 6mm & 8mm router bit.

Big makita box with some precision measurement tool I bought together.
Attached Image
Open the box and surprise to see a big square bag in there.
The boss says can use this as picnic bag, I do agreed with her. tongue.gif
Attached Image Attached Image
Lots of thing in there, many accessories too.
Attached Image Attached Image

On the first powerup, I notice the router spins very stable.
Now need to figure out what type of router bit I need. hmm.gif

Gemfive promo right now. Is this an OK deal? RM449. Or should I go for the bundle with 18V drill?

I've been looking for one with right price. Not sure abut how many batteries they provide though. The pic shows 2 x 2.0A battery but in the description says only 1 battery.

[attachmentid=7543043]

Rough breakdown of individual price
Vacumm = RM250
18V 2AH batery = RM150
Charger = RM150

So I believe its 1 batery package.

I seldom use the dremel so after 15 years its still ok. smile.gif
Dial gauge is for calibration of the blade on my jointer/planer. Or to measure how much out of alignment is some OEM brand powertools. devil.gif

I told the hardware shop the same thing, dig a few holes into concrete occasionally, he ask me just buy the cheap china brand...
Then I bought the rotary hammer, looking at the user manual seems like a Bosch rotary hammer clone.

Drills a few hole in concrete to install overhead light, feels so easy unlike my Bosch GSB hammer drill push so hard still can't drill in. bangwall.gif

Normally won't broken. But bend.

I usually force till the dremel very hot, speed slow down and struggle. Still the bit won't broke.

Nowaday My dremel like macam very easy hot liau. Time for new 1? hmm.gif
*
Maybe your dremel's bearing no oil or spoil already, friction will make it heat up.

I guess so. I did spray wd40 into it.

The heat come from there.

If you're using dremel mainly on a workbench get the Dremel 9100... Foot paddle speed control. brows.gif
I just saw on youtube ppl using dremel to remove dead skin on their feet. Useful.

The box for my vacuum almost done. I temporary screw in all the boards to test.

Realized some points:
1) The vacuum motor itself is not really that loud.
2) The high pitched noise is actually coming from the suction hosed which the box can't help to reduce.
3) The box is very effective is reducing the auto filter cleaning thumping noise. Now it sounds like some thud thud thud instead of boom boom boom.
4) Jointer is very useful to reduce that 1-2mm extra length so the boards can fit nicely.

Now I need to decide on top open or front open when I need to take the vacuum out from servicing.

Is there a danger to overheat the motor with close box without airflow?
*
I plan to cut a hole beside the vacuum cooling input to suck in fresh air.
It will be at the top right size.

hi how is your bosch sander ? is it good ? thought of getting that exact same model.... but read a lot of review that the velcro part always spoil and the sandpaper cannot stick properly onto after about a year... hows your experience ?
*
Need to know those complain on velcro fail after 1 year is commercial user that use the sander everyday or DIY user?
I am a DIY user, the velcro still works good after 2 projects. Total time I use for sanding is less than 5 days haha.

so u r satisfy with the performance of the sander so far ? how much did you pay for that sander ?
*
RM350, its some really old stock. 2013 version I think.
Covered in a thick dust at the corner of the shelf in the hardware shop hahaha.

Satisfied with the performance. Connected to my vacuum then I can sand with very low amount of dust.

Now I have 2 Bosch sanders.
One is fixed speed and one can adjust speed. lol

I am putting the fixed speed version up so sale.

While I was searching online for scroll saw reviews I found this jigsaw/scroll saw jig.
Seems to be very interesting as I can use the jig to :
1) Rip thin long piece of wood. Safer than using table saw.
2) Do scroll saw work.
3) This jig has good dust collection.
4) Made in Germany...

Looks like the scroll saw function wont have alignment issues like those stand alone stroll saws.

Might be nice to get one to try out. I have an old corded jigsaw in storeroom.

But the price look like can buy that dremel unit already ?
*
You mean the dremel scroll saw?
Well, when using jigsaw mode, this one can handle up to 10cm thick material. Doubt dremel has such power.
For scroll saw mode, it should be more powerful than dremel as its powered by a jigsaw.

How much vibration would highly depend on the quality if the jigsaw.

I dont have space in my room for a dedicated bandsaw & scroll saw so I think this one will be a good alternative for DIY works.

The cutting guide I ordered from rockler has arrived yesterday. Now I can cut straight when ripping 8x4 sheet wood.

Rockler use extra wood to reinforce the packing so it won't get damage or bent during delivery to Malaysia.
That rockler product magazine has so many things...

Why not modify your DIY table for this scroll saw or cutting saw. Need some slot and hole that doesn't effect much the whole table. That can save some space.

That is nice skill guide. How much is it? US people are farking good at wood.

I normally just use some long prank wood. No problem with straight line. Just mark more point.

Costs about USD45 which is about RM200.
Transport is the killing part where it costs me RM108.

Nothing I see in hardware store here has similar thing so have to buy oversea. sad.gif

rm520 for this guide are kind of expensive.
But now I got an idea on making a cheap cutting guide.
*
Not so expensive lar, About rm300 including transport.
Share your design and how to if you manage to make a local version, so other woodworker can have some good guide to use.
