What is the different between all this?

There are self levering
There are 2 line cross. Some is 3line?

What else different?
*
Main difference is accuracy of the lazer over longer distance.
Cheaper one is ~5mm, more expensive one is ~2mm.

No self leveling. sad.gif
I have one cheaper single laser version, trying to get a level line just by using the water bubble is a pain.
Thats why I wish to get one with auto leveling next.

I was thinking of making a vacuum cart that can slow down the high pitch household vacuum sound.
Can double up as a moving support top when cutting long wood.
I wonder how effective it will be confused.gif

Low rumbling noise still better than high pitch sound.

May get overheat the vacuum motor.

Anyway, you can try.

Additional, you can place the noise absorption matt around the case wall.

Use stand instead caster. Vibration from the motor can cause noise.

Put a thermal cut off for the motor. For overheat protection.

Building this feels like building a speaker box hahaha.

just wondering, i was planing to use this similar thing except the sound box

cyclone unit, is it a diy type or store purchace? price?
what type of vacuum cleaner? would a normal skil wet and dry vacuum do the job?
where to buy this thermal cut off for motor? and how to install
*
I bought my cyclone unit from Lazada, deliver from China. I have seen people DIY the cyclone unit with water bottles, see youtube.
http://www.lazada.com.my/allwin-high-effic...e-11741372.html

Any type of vacuum cleaner can work, just make sure the hose fit or make it fit.

Termal cutoff... no idea yet. But for my DIY usage I doubt I need termal curoff.

My final target is to fit the cyclone into a centrifugal blower. Something like this
http://hupshenghware.com/Fan/Ventilator/Bl...oduct_info.html

I wonder Ozak's car muffler method will work or not... hmm.gif

Almost done making the frame of my first workbench.
Learn many thing from the process such as:
1) The L ruler is very good as cutting guide.
2) Jigsaw is useful to cut 2x4, my circular saw can't make it.
3) Impact driver is damn noisy but its really powerful to drive big 3 inch screw into the wood.
4) Quickclamps are really very useful, would get another 2 later.
5) Jigsaw dust grain is bigger than circular saw.
6) Now I itch for a table saw. damn...

Sharing some pics:
1st day:
Trying to cut piece of 2x4 doesn't work, even the jigsaw can't cut the deep, so have to cut one by one, then all diffrent length. *facepalm* Spend more time sanding and cutting to align them to correct length.
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Day2:
Cutting with a large L ruler as guide that stick on the first cut piece. Must better outcome as those wood now are same length. All required pieces for frame completed.
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Day 3:
Assembling the pieces.. Straight rule, L ruler, quickclamp all used.
Drill a guide hole first before screwing in the large screws, then I realized impact driver is so noisy.
Now I am thinking should I add the final long piece at the front of just leave it like this. The frame already feels stable and strong.
Next need to think how to do the table top, end vice, dog holes...

Nice project rclxms.gif

Do your circular saw is cordless? Corded 6.5" saw should be no problem to cut 4x2" pine .Can get straight and smoother cut than jigsaw.
If have a lot of woodworking project ,a miter or table saw is good investment. Precise and fast cut.

Quick clamp is very handy ,especially  irwin quick grip.
*
I got a 1 inch plywood as table top for now.
My circular saw is the smaller 10.8v type that can cut up to 25mm only. I was thinking my wood project will deal with max 1 inch thick wood only but my first project actually deal with 2x4. blush.gif

Btw, table saw on the way. brows.gif
Also say Hi to the dust extractor, the first corded tool in my workroom. the size ngam ngam can roll under the table when not used. thumbup.gif

The orange clamp broke the first time I use it... bangwall.gif

Thought you will going to do some muffle box?
*
Muffle box is for the cyclone + high CFM use. I am still looking for a suitable centrifugal fan...

This Karcher vacuum beside doing dust collecting, will double as house wet vacuum so can't put it in a box.
This vacuum is large.

I connect this vacuum to a jointer/planer that has 100mm dust output. 35mm to 100mm conversion using towel to fill the gap between 35mm to 100mm.
Work surprising well, that auto filter cleaning function of this vacuum keep the high suction power consistant.

Due to the noise of the vacuum + planer, I end up wearing earplug whole afternoon, now ear itchy. rclxub.gif

Update:
After looking at some of the youtube videos, I think a box for the vacuum is doable.
Anyone knows where to get those sound absorbing foam in Klang valley?

hi bro you have a planer ? is it an electric hand planer ? was considering a hand planer to make my 2x4 square... do you think it is useful ?
*
Its a benchtop jointer/planer. Not extremely accurate but I believe its still better than me planing with hand/electic.

how much did you pay for your benchtop planer ?
*
About RM2.2k.
My review, does the job but don't expect super accuracy like those big floorstanding jointer/planer.

QUOTE(Lord Red @ Aug 26 2016, 02:41 AM)
Can someone help me? I see some shops selling Bosch GSR 120 li and some selling GSR 1080-2 li. I think one is a 12V and the other is a 10.8V battery. Thats what the specs say.

Are the batteries interchangeable? Can I use the 120 battery on the 1080-2 one?

Which one comes first? Is there a way to find out which one is the newer model and which one is the old one? Cos they like to say latest model.

TQ in advance
*
Yes, they are using the same battery.
The bosch 10.8v batteries are marketed as 12v in USA while it stays as 10.8v in europe.
Probably because 12v sounds more powerful & the way USA law works.

GSR120 is the newer version of GSR1080, a little bit improvement on the torque I think.

Drilling a big hole can really put the powertools to the limit.

Try drill a 125mm hole. 1st using the Bosch GRE16RE 750W. It struggle to drill and getting very hot. Almost cannot touch the motor body. The hole cut deep getting no where. Afraid it get spoil, I stop using it.

Change it to Makita HR2470 780W. Drill like a charm. Less effort to push. And speed more constant even pushing hard.

Despite the watt almost same, (different by 30w) Rotary drill are much more powerfull than hammer drill. If doing some big job.

QUOTE(ozak @ Aug 26 2016, 09:37 AM)
What is the noise level for this vacuum ? How long the vacuuming can last per full charge ?

I strongly consider a handheld vacuum like this. When doing some DIY at night, I can't use my Hiatchi vacuum. The powerfull 2300w is very noisy even in low mode.

That restrict me from doing some drilling and dusty thing. Or quickly finish up before night. Sometime take few days to finish because of the time limit of not doing it continue till night.

Is there any place that I can try it out ? So I can hear it myself the noise level.

I want to consider the Makita vacuum. Cause the 12V battery is same with the current powertools I have. But it only can last for 12min percharge.
*
Working till 9pm still consider ok kua. You working in closed area or open area?
Karcher has a vacuum that has rated noise of 60dba. I think is T15/1 HEPA... I think more than 1K. bangwall.gif

Actually that vacuum my office cleaner use also very quiet, later I check the model.
