I just read about Gen-X's blog post regarding the iPad2 purchase at Harvey Norman. Gen-X's blog is ever enlightening, really learnt a lot especially when I'm still a newbie.
Nice, gave me lots of wild idea. |

OK, I tried buying AirAsia ticket on Thursday's midnight and AmEx didn't go through, in the end I used VISA. Though I lost out the 5xTP but I paid a much lower convenience fee.
Er, I forgot what the error says but is that something to do with this new enhancement? Since AirAsia is also online based. This post has been edited by fruitie: Dec 11 2011, 12:18 PM |

QUOTE(MaL @ Dec 16 2011, 06:42 PM) think maybe this question been asked before but cant see it in search...anyway...anyone here or anyone u know able to apply the mmb2 plats with annual income <40k?... Why wanna get when you know you can't? My current annual income is more than 40k yet I still got Gold. Next year new adjustment will be more than 48k and I don't foresee the chance to be upgraded to Plat. I just want my CL to be increased, that's not gonna happen. |

QUOTE(tifosi @ Dec 17 2011, 03:51 AM) Next year I should have >50K declared on my BE form. I will try and apply for an upgrade to plat in April just before my anniversary date and see if it gets approved or not. Actually my CL is sufficient for my usage but it hurts me a bit to see such puny CL. I am opposite with fruitie CL wise, I don't really care as long as is sufficient for my usage but I want plat for their benefits Which particular plat benefit that you are looking at? I think I'll try to apply for one OCBC Ti next year and before my CIMB DA approaches its anniversary, I'll get it cut off, provided I already got an OCBC Ti. I don't see the benefits of keeping the CIMB DA... Looks like Maybankard2Gold + OCBC Ti is the best combo for me now. |

QUOTE(s@ni @ Dec 19 2011, 01:46 PM) Heavy transactions don't really guarantee one to get a Platinum these days. Banks are getting stricter, they only want to see your income which fulfills their requirements then only Platinum will be granted. |

It is weird that someone wants to apply for a CC but doesn't want to show payslip?
What's wrong with that? Don't get me wrong, I'm in HR department and looking at people's salary is a norm for me. Anyway, earning a lot or not, payslip is one of the criteria for credit card application. Just that there are people who can escape by just submitting in current existing credit cards but not all the time. What's worse when BNM has stricter regulation for this. |

I use CC to earn little cash rebate and points.
This month, I started to swipe almost all my expenses using credit card, I swap between my Maybankard2G and CIMB DA. Both have different statement dates and I always make sure I have the cash to pay despite using CC to pay. It's nice to see that transactions occur after statement date will be paid in the next 2 months. |

QUOTE(harrychoo @ Dec 22 2011, 07:15 PM) Will join the gang to get this card soon. I went through the route too but the waiting time is pretty long compared to apply directly from the centre or agent.Actually i no need to apply anything, suddenly maybank called me asked me if i want this card, said i'm a loyal customer blablabla, and can directly send to me if i say yes You need to make constant follow-up. The good thing is you don't need to submit any documents. That basically saves a lot of time. |

QUOTE(ch_teo @ Dec 22 2011, 10:53 PM) same here. MBB2 amex + CIMB DA master. these 2 cards swap. thinking to cancel the CIMB DA as not much benefits after the petrol no more rebate. maintain it bcos lot higher CL than the mbb2. the best thing is the Amex 1 time go the max amount to reload my plusmiles every month on a weekend I'm thinking of cancelling my CIMB DA before the anniversary next year's July.Hopefully in between I can get an OCBC Ti. Perfect combo for my Maybankard2Gold. |

@lazyserv: Well, if PBB Card doesn't serve you right, might as well just cancel it off and try your luck again applying for the Maybankard2Gold?

QUOTE(lazyserv @ Dec 26 2011, 11:59 AM) I was planning to cancel PB card but I still have outstanding balance in it, so I plan if the card application is successful I wanted to do balance transfer with 0% installment plan. bu the way when I apply the maybank credit card I submit full document as they request including pay slip and epf statement. is it possible to reapply again less then 6month? As Gen-X mentioned before, you can try if your annual income >36k before (or after) 6 months. |

Amazon can use PayPal right? Just link AmEx to PayPal and use it during weekends. That's my suggestion la.
I have never tried buying on weekdays before. |

Since when having Degree is one of the requirements?
Suggest you to wait for 3 months then only apply. Usually if you fulfill the requirements, you shouldn't have much issues in getting one. If you get rejected by them *touch wood*, then you can always appeal. |
