Yeay, got 6% discount when using my Maybank VISA on Agoda. Thanks for some kind guys' posts earlier, I didn't know that and I managed to stop my friend from booking using her Citibank CC. biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Now I would like to check out hotels for Bangkok and Hanoi as my trips are approaching. I thought of using AmEx until I remember there is discount for Maybank VISA/MasterCard users. biggrin.gif

Oh, meh, mine tell me I need to accumulate 10k points then only use it to offset GST.
*
Of course it works that way. I don't think they will credit back to you. smile.gif
I got mine offset last year, they gave me free 10k. biggrin.gif rclxms.gif
This year also can offset already have more than 30k TP as of now. biggrin.gif
My anniversary is in April, let's see, when are they going to charge me.

but mine i pay the RM 50 first
then later i only use 10K TP on different month to get back the fees i paid
suprisingly they did credited back RM 50 instaead of TP
*
When you paid your RM 50.00, did you already have 10k TP in your account?

wow...thanks...have u tried that?

btw, i'm wondering whether it will be the same if i book through www.agoda.com, instead of www.agoda.com.my.

for .my, it's in malay, and i dunno how to change it to english and its......pretty annoying  blink.gif

You can change the language from top. I changed mine to English and currency to MYR. Else, if link from Maybank site, it is in BM and in USD. smile.gif
Yes, once you check out and put in Maybank's card info, you will automatically see discounted rate. smile.gif

Anyway, you can book from Agoda.com, once it detects Maybank as the banker then you will get 6% discount right away. I have never tried before but hye said this is workable, if I got hye's post understood correctly. smile.gif

Better to sup only the Amex card and cancel the Mastercard to max the benefits. The RM25 sup fee for Mastercard (Maybank2 cards) does not bring additional benefits.
*
You can't cancel MasterCard or VISA, it comes as a package. Once you cancel that, AmEx will be gone as well. sweat.gif
Maybank doesn't do business rugi. sweat.gif
If like that, all of us only take AmEx. laugh.gif

Nope, GST are charged based on numbers of card. So if you have 2 sets you will get charged 2x.

I thought David was talking about RM 50 monthly cash rebate and not GST? sweat.gif

*
You know spending doesn't justify the conversion. It is if you fulfill the platinum's requirements. smile.gif

Yes and she is credit card agent (in-house/Internet)...

If you were "selected" you wouldnt even need to send ur details isnt it?

And this makes no difference than u walk in to any branches to apply credit card.. Unless she says give u free GST waiver.
*
You make a good point, it didn't cross my mind on this part.
I was offered over the phone as well and I wasn't required to send in any information or document, not even my payslip.
What they verified was just my card delivery address.
