HLB has BSA without annual fee.
Mention the phrase BSA to be sure they give you the right product

Yeah, just found out they have BSA without annual fees from other thread, but why the representative told me don't have, only have the 1 with annual fees.

Is it possible to convert existing to non annual fees like Maybank?

No. Have to close the account and open a new one if you want to

Ohmai icon_question.gif which mean my account number will be changed. Will it affect the crediting of my FD interest to my current SA?
Can I open a new one while keep the current one until everything done migrating to the new one?

What if I would like to change the BSA without annual to annual fees in future, do I need to close and open again?

I think you can keep the accounts, but migrating the crediting of interest is a different story - you might not be able to change the account number, depending on the branch manager/bank

Changing account is a lot of hassle for me since I have linked few crediting products to my account.
According to Hong Leong Bank page, the annual fee is part of opted like what Maybank did, but in real life what the representative in HLB branch telling always differerent with what the website stated. doh.gif

some representative not clear about basic savings account features. you may always open a basic saving account, tell them nicely that you opt for no annual fee option. if there is annual fee charged, you can file a complain to HLB headquarters, CC to bank negara. (i got my annual fee refund through this way)

optional RM8.48 a year for unlimited ATM withdrawals
By default they assume you want this , you have to tell them to opt out
Without this charge, you can only withdraw max 4 times for Kawanku account and 8 times for BSA, each additional charged at 53 sen, but free if your balance >5k or your withdrawal amount >1.5k

I see. when they told me they just told me I need to pay annual fee, that's why I was shock when I see some said no need to pay doh.gif now I found out I can apply via maybank2u, but if i do so I can't select don't want this option, right?

If I'm not mistaken, all new debit card since 2017 must enable for online transactions.
