Grundfos is the leading brand.

I would not advise you to go for pump.
I'd suggest you to get the "direct water" from water meter.

I did that last time but now regret. The pressure getting low after my neighbor moved in. Now i have to instal pump already. Luckly i have prepare a power point last time when i did my reno. Bought grundfos from zean. Very good. Very quite.

yeah, most contractors will recommend u to use direct. It is a waste of money for long term as u will have issue later.

At first u pay few hundred to modify to direct. Later when pressure is weak, u need to spend another few hundred to modify it back to the original piping, isnt it waste of money?

It is almost a year since I posted that message.
My water pressure is still very strong until this very day.

Complete silent + extremely low installation cost + Energy free + maintenance free 24/7.
High flow water even during black out.
Well, it is an excellent option for those who have high water pressure.

I live in JB and water pressure is very good thus far.
Where do you live? It is quite rare to see the water pressure dropped after neighbor moved in.

There are always pros and cons.
It is just another option.

Hi guys,

Am thinking of getting Grundfos pump for my new house too. Seems that the CH2-50PC has been replaced with newer model CM3-5PC. Just wondering, normally where do people put the pump...on the roof? That means have to spend $$$ to build a shelter specially for the pump? Any other places to put the pump? Also, do we need to redirect the pipes for kitchen so that water will come from the pump as well? Coz if not mistaken, originally the water for kitchen is direct from pipe and not from tangki...

Zheilwane, can please pm me best price for the CM3-5PC pump? Thanks!

Usually on the roof, water have to tap from water tank. Can't pull from direct. Is illegal.

Hmm, nvm it's ok, understood that you're protecting your business...just in case i'm a spy for your competitors huh tongue.gif Thought of getting the price through pm (like what i saw here: http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1636923/all) coz i'll then have a rough idea how much it will cost instead of driving all the way to your shop.

actually it is not really accurate to look at HP. For grundfos, CM3-5, Cm3-5, CM 5-3 and etc most of them are 0.5kw = close to 0.7hp. However, the performance and price of each model are different.

SO why they have the same HP yet performance is different? Reason, they are using the same MOTOR but number and size of impellers are different.

on ground floor ? better check the pump to see the specification on the pumping height...

water is damn heavy to pump up... if double story...

its easier to pump down due to gravity.. and harder to pump up smile.gif

http://www.rpc.com.au/pdf/Grundfos_CM_DataSheet.pdf

specification for the cm pumps, look at the curve graphs to get the best height/flowrate for your usage... smile.gif

thumb up to zheilwane...even though I never met him and even go to his shop, I would pretty much confident!! because of his knowledge sharing as well, I have decided to go for grunfos!!

anyway, i'm using grunfos pump as well...240 if I not mistaken..not really remember the code..anyway, yes it will somehow increase your electricity but you will be more than happier to take bath, wash and anything related to the water...

for electricity, make sure you built up some power switch so that you can turn it off when no one is in the house.. =)

would like to ask that, will 1hp of water pump consume a significant electricity as it operates 24hours (of cause it on/off only when there is a usage) and has a same horsepower as air-conditional too.

From my experience,if you are planning to install autopump, you just need to make sure your pump is not running when you have close all the pipe that using water from tank after installation.if the pump still running, then there is a leakage.. =)
