It can produce 32A in 20hr. But normally won't be that long.

Anyone here able to install a solar system powerful enough to run air-con?

i think is quite impossible as you need at least 2 big lorry battery with some PK marathon brand controller will cost you lot of money.. some how the battery will not last .. for 2 to 3 year maximum..

In theory 32Ahr is mean in 1hr it produce 32A or 1A in 32Hr. So it depend on the thing that draw how many A or watt to determine the battery can last how long. Some minus factor need to chip in like hot temperature and discharge rate before damage the battery.

Car/lorry battery have good and bad.

It is not suitable for deep discharge or using for solar or anything that discharge long before charge.

While Tesla battery is using lithium battery which is idea for such usage.

Well, I have a few car batteries lying around. Was wondering if I can connect them in parallel to get more run time out of them but as I read online it's not advisable to connect batteries of different sizes, brand, age. How true is this? I understand the theory that the discharge/charge rate would be different from different batteries but will it really kill the batteries? Mine are all past 3years so I don't really mind if they die soon.

You can try to use it. Anyway you don't loose anything since the battery is lying around.

The advise is for new battery. It help to prolong the battery life.

Different size require different charge rate. Parallel use will charge in not equal state. Same for the age battery too.

Different brand have different charatestic and behaviour. Generally don't have much problem. Maybe some small effect for intelligence charger.

Car battery cannot be discharge to much and require immediately charge. That is special design for car charatestic of using. So it actually not suitable for other usage even for a golf cart.

So it's better to connect same size batteries than different size batteries right?

So if I connect 3 x ns40's I would get 32Ah x 3 = 96Ah (in theory)

Still can't find a way to utilize my solar panel sad.gif

AH, and KWH is difference, you may have good 30mins and end up the juice are gone especially when you use old car battery. After deep charged your battery performance will drop and lifespan will be affected.

Also you need to take note LeadAcid battery release Hydrogen gas when charging, make sure you have better ventilation, if not you are just putting timebomb in your house especially you put many of it in one location.

Yes.

Yup. In parallel, the Amp is add more. In series, the voltage is add more.

Why you brought a panel but don't no what to use? What size and what your plan?
