Anyone has experience with Cellini sofa. Think of getting a set. Just want to know if it is reliable and durable.

I have not so great experience with Cellini. Price to performance is too high.

They do have decent design.

However, besides design, other considerations are important. Ultimately durability, maintainability, and quality are important considerations to the overall cost of investment.

Recently, trying to help a friend furnish an apartment. Went shopping in many furniture stores in PJ, near Sri Petaling, Viva and some recent exhibitions for Sofa and Dining sets. By the time I go through some stores, I already got confused on the products especially the sofa upholstery. For leather alone, different stores confused each other up from the quality type.

Then go to one store with something to our liking. The store claim that softer bovine leather is top quality leather. Then you choose some harder leather, they say more expensive as it is better quality eve! So their tactic, draw you to some design you like first. Then either you choose the same show piece leather and there will be no extra charge. Any variation, you will be whack extras. Variation can include some extra or reduce cushioning, extra or reduce length and so on.

Pretty lame sales tactics. Mainly trying to confuse buyers.

This is common situation when finding quotation or price during renovation...
Quote a basic price, add on this and that, then come to final price...will be same with market price... shakehead.gif

Also got confused with some salesman during furniture fair. Some said their leather sofa using 'high-tech leather'..scratch resistant unlike bovine leather that easily scratch, but other salesman said their sofa using top quality soft bovine leather unlike 'high-tech' leather that not a 'genuine' leather.

Making consumer confuse is an age old sales tactics in almost every trade. Until consumer catches up with the knowledge, the sales people will take full advantage. That's why forums here is very useful.

Anyway, I thought you have always been buying from some reliable source?

Variation order tactics. Never go that direction.

After spending the weekends on the shop for furniture, end up a waste of time. So much of unprofessional sales tactics.

Two days ago contact prop99 for the sofa. All done in a jiffy. smile.gif smile.gif
