need comment, which is better?

P50X30k
P50X50k

what are the differences between 30k and 50k actually? what did they upgrade? from what i know, they decreased the number of hdmi and usb ports. 30k has 3hdmi, 2usb, and now the 50k has only 2hdmi and 1usb.

if the price different between 30k and 50k is around rm200, which would you take?

how about P50U30k? only full hd? picture quality still same as X series?

Thanks

got it for RM3999 + 5% for installments and RM80 for delivery. wanted urgent and he even had the tv shipped out before for my convenience! highly recommended.

same tv at jusco mid valley = RM5099 and Harvey Norman = RM6499!!

no free gifts just the 2 pcs 3D glasses that come with it. best bargain...low price means can have anfield calibrate it for me!  rclxms.gif  rclxms.gif  rclxm9.gif

I think you made a mistake, the model at Harvey Norman is P50GT50K, it is a GT series 3D plasma.
Price is RM6599 at Harvey Norman Penang.

Th PQ is damn nice, almost no reflection glass, and very deep black panel.
The bezel of the TV is very small too, around 2 to 3 cm, and the plasma TV is very slim, slimmer than 2011 model a lot, around 3 to 4 cm thick only, very much like the LED tv.

I have try to play around the THX mode, there is 2 THX mode, where it is THX normal mode and THX bright room mode.
The THX bright room mode is the best mode with best PQ.
Though, the salesman change it back to Dynamic mode, with contrast set to 100.

I am regret to buy the VT20K early this year, should wait for new model, since P50ST50K is damn cheap, with very good PQ.

Added on May 6, 2012, 9:18 pmTo sum up, until this date, so far all the 2012 Viera TV are already arrive at Malaysia, just the electrical retail store keep the stock, and not display the unit only.

P42X50K, 42" Plasma TV 1024 x 768 resolution, RM1699 -> Saw at SenQ Queensbay Mall, HD ready, cheaper than last year X series, nearly no improvement in PQ, panel has green tint, very reflective screen, normal design.

P50X50K, 50" Plasma TV 1024 x 768 resolution RM2699 -> Saw at SenQ Queensbay Mall, HD ready, cheaper than last year X series, nearly no improvement in PQ, panel has green tint, very reflective screen, normal design.

P42E5K, 42" FULL HD LED LCD TV, RM 2799 -> Saw at SenQ Queensbay Mall,
- 150Hz Backlight Scanning (one of the LCD motion flow technology which flicker the backlight to archive better PQ to remove the static image, and get smoother motion)
- IPS Panel (one of the best LCD panel technology out there that produce very wide viewing angle up to 178 degree, and better color gamut, and better contrast ratio, think of Iphone 4, Ipad and some tablet PC screen, they utilize IPS panel LCD, have compare this side by side at other brand LCD TV at this price and the Panasonic wins hand down)
- The screen is less reflective than this year low end plasma, maybe is the cheapest FULL HD LED LCD you can buy for this year.

P47ET50K, 47" FULL HD LED 3D LCD TV, RM 6299 -> Saw at Harvey Norman Queensbay Mall.
-800Hz Backlight Scanning (one of the LCD motion flow technology which flicker the backlight to archive better PQ to remove the static image, and get smoother motion)
- IPS Panel (one of the best LCD panel technology out there that produce very wide viewing angle up to 178 degree, and better color gamut, and better contrast ratio, think of Iphone 4, Ipad and some tablet PC screen, they utilize IPS panel LCD)
- 3D real sound with 8 train speaker. (Real 8 small speaker at the bottom of the TV, plus a slim woofer at the back of the TV, sound quality should be very good)
- This TV is very very slim, totally different design than the non 3D E5K model, and the bezel is some what very small, much like the Samsung LED TV, around 1 cm only.
- The screen is less reflective than this year low end plasma, but compare to the GT series plasma, which produce far better black level, and far less reflective screen, this is not a worthy purchase.

P50UT50K, 50" FULL HD 3D Plasma TV, RM4099 -> Saw at SenQ Gurney Plaza
- Normal this year 3D Plasma TV stuff like 2500 focus field drive, 2D to 3D conversion.
- In terms of design, this TV is thinner than last year UT series plasma, and smaller bezel. The TV is very beautiful in design too, can't describe the design here, but surely beats the Samsung Plasma design, feel like this is a premium TV.
- In term of PQ, I must admit the panel has very black tint, far better than the U or UT series plasma last year. Unlike last year model, which has a white tint on the panel, this panel is totally black. The only drawback on this plasma is the thick screen glass, which produce very visible reflection on the screen.
- Probably the cheapest 3D FULL HD plasma, with above average PQ, you can buy for this year, street price may be lower than this, around RM3000++ ????

P50ST50K, 50" FULL HD 3D Plasma TV, RM5099 -> Not sawing anywhere at Penang yet, but do ask at Senheng and the stock is already arrive, saw at their database at one of their branch.
- Normal this year 3D Plasma TV stuff like 2500 focus field drive, 2D to 3D conversion, now with Infinite Black Pro panel, and Neo Plasma power saving technology.
- 3D real sound with 8 train speaker. (Real 8 small speaker at the bottom of the TV, plus a slim woofer at the back of the TV, sound quality should be very good)
- Not viewing the TV yet on myself, but other forum start to give rave result on their review saying that this is the best plasma you can buy for now with fantastic PQ, better than the Samsung D8000 plasma, surely better than the Samsung E550 plasma, and produce far better black level, and high quality picture, with the most affordable price.
- Probably the cheapest high end 3D FULL HD plasma, with the best available PQ, you can buy for this year, street price may be lower than this, around RM3999 from iamsobloodysick? I wish I have 1 of these, please!!!! These may be the benchmark for cheap 3D TV for our generation.

P50GT50K, 50" FULL HD 3D Plasma TV, RM6599 -> Saw at Harvey Norman Queensbay Mall.
- Got all the stuff of ST series FULL HD 3D plasma TV, plus THX and ISFccc professional calibration mode(Pro1, Pro2), feature wise is same with the VT series plasma.
- May have better black panel, better PQ and very near to VT series plasma.
- Very thin bezel (2 to 3 cm), very beautiful TV design (premium feel, beat Samsung plasma design), and the TV is very slim (around 3 to 4 cm, very much like the LED TV), surely very deep black level and less reflection screen. May beat the last year VT30 series plasma.
- Have THX Cinema and THX Bright Room mode. (2 separated mode)
- For budget constrain that cannot afford to buy the VT series plasma, this plasma TV is perfectly worth for consideration, with similar VT series plasma feature.
- Consider the feature and price, should get this one instead.

For smart TV feature, all the the TV except the X series plasma don't have this, all other TV listed are equip with this feature, which you can use the Viera Connect feature to access internet content (Youtube, Facebook, Weather, Skype, Internet Radio, Games). You need to have internet connection at home (Streamyx, Maxis broadband). Cheapest and best solution is to buy a 5 meter Ethernet LAN cable (RM5 to RM10 solution), and connect the cable to the LAN port at the back of the TV and to your Network Switch or Router. (Optional you can opt for Wifi Dongle, but for E50K LCD, ST and GT plasma, there is built in WiFi, so you may need a WiFi router or Switch)
To be honest, all the apps are free, but I won't use those feature as it is very hard to use by using a TV remote control.

All TV are DLNA certified, and for the Media Player feature, all now are DIVX+ HD certified, which can play high quality MKV, MP4, MOV, AVI, FLV, TS, PS, VOB, WMV, up to 1920 x 1080 resolution and many more format, with subtitle playback, similar to Samsung TV feature.

Harvey Norman at Mid Valley didn't seem to be very interested in selling the TV - they gave me the price for GT when I asked for ST and didn't have stock either.

I've been using the P50ST50K for over a week now and I have to say, it's fantastic. Picture Quality is nothing short of amazing and everyone around the internet seems to think that the premium for the GT/VT for the ST isn't worth it simply for the THX mode and the extra steps of gradation. I personally feel this is the best value for the most amazing quality.

However, everyone has their own opinion. For me the most important thing was Full HD - I was considering the P50UT50 before, but the infinite black panel on the ST just convinced me, plus there was only RM300 difference in price. Kind of a no-brainer. There's a slight reflection issue when the curtains are open in bright sunlight and you're watching blacks on screen, but nothing that would remotely be a dealbreaker. This is my first plasma and coming from mostly LCDs, I'm extremely satisfied with the purchase.

Anyone considering buying a plasma, I would whole-heartedly recommend the ST50. 100% worth the price.

There is no way you can work around with this.
Only model from year 2011 onwards can read HDD.

The old model may only can play some simple Divx, Xvid, AVI, and MP3.
The only solution is using an external Media Player.

Totally agree, the salesman at Harvey Norman are pretty rude as well, seems to look down their customer with very rude attitude when we ask for other model.

Sadly I already own a P50VT20K early of this year, if not, I sure will consider P50ST50K.

VT20 should be around 3K to 4K, very hard to find, only display set available.
VT30, with 2 glass, 3D Bluray, 3 Bluray Disc should be around 6.5K++.

These are LEDs - i would have to recommend the sharp or samsung if you want LCDs.

As for the ST50 v/s VT20 and VT30, I can safely say after all the research that with last year's models (VT30), there were a number of problems with the display panels themselves, some of which were Image Retention (IR), blue/yellow/green shades/lines on the panel amongst others. So yes, you would be much better off buying this year's technology compared to last years' of even the year before that.

If nothing, the most notable improvement is in 3D, and even if that isn't a factor, the thinness, bezel, power consumption have all been (even if slightly) improved in the '50' models.

As for the P65ST50K, it seems to be going for anything between USD2300 to USD2700. Judging by that and the price difference from the US, my guess would be safely above the region of RM10k.

Haha...... No chance to own a new TV oledi, even though the price is so much cheaper than previous year for now, with more high end feature.

For new buyer, just stick with Panasonic plasma, this year offering is very good. Should you own a good plasma TV from now on.
