QUOTE(colins @ Oct 17 2011, 01:13 PM) What about normal over-the-air TV channel? Is it "watchable"? I have seen the Sharp 46" LED and my Plasma 50". Both not good. Only buy these HDTVs if you want to watch Astro Byond or HD movies via media player. Otherwise, save your money and stick to CRT. Worst is LCD that makes you want to puke.Am asking coz my friend told me that his 46" Sharp AQUOS LED is not as good (a bit blur due to the large screen size?) as CRT TV when viewing normal TV. So just wondering if the Panasonic 50" is better. Thanks. This post has been edited by Optiplex330: Oct 17 2011, 03:18 PM |

QUOTE(colins @ Nov 23 2011, 06:34 PM) This model was being sold at around RM2700 a month back, but seems that its an obsolete model (new model coming?) as most dealers not having stock now. Now is November, new model only available around Feb or Mar-2012. So this model is still current. This post has been edited by Optiplex330: Nov 24 2011, 02:53 PM |

Panasonic is famous for their Plasma, not their LCD/LED.

Hi. Looking for another Plasma and got some questions:
1. 2011 ST vs VT. Are there any significant PQ differences or are the differences more on features wise? 2. What's the best price for the 55" ST 65" VT nowadays? Thanks. |

Is the VT30 a vast improvement in PQ over VT20?

QUOTE(anfieldude @ Mar 16 2012, 10:53 AM) I would not say so...There are improvements but there are steps back as well... Thank you. So what would be a fair price for a demo 50VT20 or a brand new 50VT30 nowadays? For one, they do not go as bright. The colour decoding is still an issue. However, the 50Hz issue is slightly better and the image retention is better. It has 10point greyscale and gamma for both 3D and 2D so its better. The VT20 only had 2 point and it did not have a seperate memory for 3D. The VT20 has slightly better black levels but the larger VT30 are on par. The VT20 has brightness pops if the calibration/settings was not done correctly. The VT30 is better but the problem is not eliminated (so Floating brightness is a problem for both). There are other differences but as I said not all are better. I believe 3D performance was slightly better on the VT30. The VT20 does have rising blacks. I am not sure how bad it is though. The VT30 is supposed to be better. My one gripe about the VT30 is the ABL circuitry is slightly more aggresive and the APL changes do show up. |
