Shoot!!! Second day facing the same issue.

Data connection suddenly lost without warning. Need advice on this as the telco blaming the phone.

Phone is on stock ROM.

nvr face this issue before and i dun think stock rom have anything to do wif this. if not i think more than 70% of the sold out SGSII will be returned. ur fren will encounter same thing in same area using same telco or not?

Mine is Blue in Cyberjaya and My friend using yellow at Kelana Jaya.

HUrm... I think is got to do with the apps it think but could not pin point which one. haih

did u installed any battery conserving apps? i forgotten the name but the icon is a green leave. i think the preset setting is turning off data connection when screen off/ idle. check ur apps first

I believe it's the same issue I reported in the previous thread. Not sure if davidlow7 is facing the same issue, since he complained about connectivity as well.

For me, the H, H+, 3G, E logo will suddenly disappear and I lose the data connection.

I found that Anand of anandtech also faced the same problems. I doubt it's the network. Someone suggested switching modem/baseband. I'm thinking of doing that but haven't gotten around to doing it yet. Too much to learn and not enough time to learn how to do it yet. lol. Rooting, flashing, cwm, titanium, etc etc etc.

Edit: I'm using stock + upgrade to KH2 via Kies. This happens before and after I upgraded.

I have no power saving apps, but have the default power saving function ticked. It has no options to kill data connection, though, and my batt was at 80%, way too high above the threshold and I wasn't idle, but busy downloading.

Since me, aiman and Anand are on different carriers, i doubt it's the network.

Yup.. Are you refering to battery bar?

But mine it does not turn off the data connection, it straight away stop having connection even though i off and on again the data packet. need to restart the phone then it get back to action.

I am also facing the same problem, i am using yellow teleco and sometime i just lost the mobile signal completely.
i am on stock 2.3.4 rom with just some normal apps no battery saving apps.

its weird then. mayb we shud start a poll and c how many peoples are facing the same situations, then file a complaint to SME and claim for a free galaxy note

Careful for already existing settings. In this case, just change the values.

Open your build.prop in system/build.prop via root explorer
Check if your current rom have this in the build.prop . IF yes , ignore it . IF no , key in the data
Backup your original build.prop b4 editing it
Save and Exit and reboot hp and see if this works for u .

I got a slightly better signal on my LG 3D after editing my build.prop with these commands . It should work for SGSII as well as its for all android platform . Here is the link from XDA

Yeah... I though people have already ask about this. So this is a know issue for several people.

Well, i might have found the culprit.

I found out that whenever I lost my connections suddenly just like u guys, the APN settings were actually all gone in setting >wireless and networks > mobile networks > Access Point Names

Once I restart it, the APN just reappear again and the connection is there again. Try to see if u guys are just the same like me.

just to reiterate, i never install anything that auto switch off the data connection or change the APN setting (apndroid / juice defender)

hey guys, just got an s2 awhile ago, like literally. was wondering if it was possible to get popular games / apps without buying or rooting? not too sure about rooting since i'm not a windows person and as far as i'm concerned, there's not many safe ways to root with a mac. would be glad if i could get swift replies, thanks!

How to install busy box and cwm..i think it should come when we rooted right? ive change to litening custom rom and its rooted by default..but cwm and busybox is not included..can help?
