yes from my personal experienced the customer service very good , plus their staff very knowledgeable in all products that available @ sony style the curve .... compared to sony centre ikano , the customer service just average ..

Connect ps3 using the 3 head (red, white,yellow) wire 1st and set max reso to 1080i..

Sometimes hd ready tv hv prob supporting 1080p reso.

when it auto detect your hdmi cable, untick the 1080p reso.

sometimes on off the tv when itbecomes blank might solved problem temporarily.. and you can change the display setting in the display setting. this is base on my experience with Sharp LCD tv..

My phat PS3 is obviously aged more than 2 years and recently it start giving me yellow light almost every time i switch it on. however after restart it i can play as usual.

What is advisable step do i need to take before it permanently dead? Is replacing thermal paste will do?

better backup your files first, just in case....
nowadays can backup/copy savedata even if you're not PS+ member....
all you need is ext HDD with FAT32 format.....

buy brand new Playstation 3 slim or super slim .. quickly transfer all data to the new PS3 using the Data Transfer Utility .. not worth to repair YLOD PS3

i suggest you buy portable aircond and put beside the ps3 console while playing hehe

Well not all games can be copied to ext HDD/flash drives... e.g. vanquish R2 can't be copied
