QUOTE(lowyatsuperman @ Sep 23 2011, 11:46 PM) I am interested in ABL but me no MacGyver. Can I go to any shop to install it? How muchie including workmanship? DIY install of OEM ABL is very simple and wld augur well as yr very FIRST sure successful DIY project! Only 3 basic simple steps. Also will it void the warranty for new car? If done by shop, yu shld not b charged more than a nominal charge nia. An experienced guy shld take 10 mins MAX to install! NB. If near Meru, Klang (Klang Parade), yu can go install @Sh@rty 5's shop itself! Warranty shld NOT be void cos NO wires need 2b cut! Added on September 24, 2011, 8:09 amBtw Good Morning, Everyone!! QUOTE(lowyatsuperman @ Sep 24 2011, 08:48 PM) Just wondering, is it possible to disable locking using brake pedal? ie I only want to control lock+unlock by pressing the reset button? Nope, Bro. So far not hear of module using Reset button to LOCK as well as unlock. Another thing, is the alarm reset function still working after installing this? Ori Alarm Reset function shld still b working as most other ori functions still work. Sorry but kenot test now cos jiran2 will b very unhappy if I do...agreed? |

QUOTE(stanleypua @ Sep 25 2011, 11:21 AM) Not much idea la . Since your ad diy that lamp plug , just put in the boot lo~ Ya lo...paiseh nia... Kinda waste sh@rty effort if i ask you take out that plug, Maybe nxt DIY...? Btw for the info of those keen on DIY-ing OEM ABL, here is my prepared snapped pic of the module & instructions on pic... Step 1. a. Locate Car Alarm unit on LHS of boot space near to LHS Rear Lamp cluster/housing. b. Remove white plug (only one!) from Car Alarm unit. Plug looks exactly like the one connected to new OEM ABL module. Step 2 to 4 : Pls refer to attached pic : » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Step 5 : Tidying up...Use dbl-sided tape to attach ABL unit to metal bracket of Car Alarm. Use cable ties to keep/hold cables neatly. Up 2yu wan... Note : To identify the correct Power Line cable to Rear Brake Lamp socket, pls confirm using either a Multimeter or a simple 12V bulb ie earth the body of the lamp to car body and connect the other lamp terminal to the cable yu're testing. The correct cable wld light up the test lamp. Easiest to use a car cabin room lamp cos it has 2 ends...1 end to car body, the other to the cable in socket. If not wrong, the cable is GREEN in colour. Happy DIY-ing!! This post has been edited by zeone: Sep 25 2011, 12:34 PM |
