QUOTE(sg999 @ Sep 20 2011, 10:14 PM)
won improve drag effect during a/c kick?
*
Drag effect fr a/c kick-in mainly caused by a/c magnetic clutch engagement...load on engine. This is very obvious in a small/low power engine trying to drive a high power a/c compressor. So a VS does not help here.

However, if the drag is due2 the drain in electrical supply operating the a/c clutch, there is a possible reduction if the VS capacitance value is HIGH enuf to overcome the drain... rolleyes.gif

ps. my little knowledge fr little personal experience nia. tongue.gif

1.3L probably due2 compressor power drag on engine output...?? My man-in-the-street guess? Haha! tongue.gif

Mayb our 1.6FL bros can shed some light if their higher capacity engine has similar drag? icon_idea.gif

A very good morning 2ALL BLM/FL/FLX lovers!! notworthy.gif
A simple UPDATE re my recent changeover to Denso Iridium Power Spark Plugs :

1. No significant noticeable after effects...most probably engine is still new. Only reaching 5k Km. tongue.gif
2. Starts @ each & every turn of ignition key.
3. Used abt 12.5L of Petronas RON95 on first topup after 137.3Km.
4. Felt a slightly smoother engine response to presses on accelerator pedal...mayb "placebo" effect(?).
5. Savings in expenses cos each NGK change costs Rm38 & if each change @10k Km, total cost after 100k Km = 10x38 ie RM380!! Savings = RM220+ not incl labour charges!! rclxm9.gif

So most probably benefits cld b juz easier starting, longer life & less "misfiring" which contributed to a smoother engine(?).

Only time will tell, rite? icon_rolleyes.gif

For FLX, I find that the boot closing not so smooth. Sometimes, even when I thought it's closed when I switched on alarm, it gives me a warning that boot not closed properly. So I have to open it and close again.

Is this normal or I need ask them to change some locking mechanisms? Sending for 1K service in a day or two at Mutiara D'sara.
*
Alarm sounds cos sensor for boot not de-activated. Boot sensor is of different construction/design from those of doors & bonnet.
Need to adjust sensor contacts so that they touch when boot is open BUT do NOT touch when boot is closed... sweat.gif

Suggest try cleaning the contacts first b4 attempting adjustment? Spray with WD40 or an electronic contact spray?

Pls refer to pics of boot sensor that me posted some time back .

I think lots of those air ionizer stuff that plug into lighter socket also does not work.
*
All of them do work... brows.gif brows.gif
The question is ... What do they really do?? Haha! rclxm9.gif

If not wrong, MOST are electronic circuitry with electrodes producing a lot of OZONE!!! NOT negative ions...as claimed to do!

You can pick out the distinctive smell of Ozone... tongue.gif

Btw high percentages of Ozone is HARMFUL to health!! sad.gif

So do be wary of them... whistling.gif

ps. Pls Google for harmful effects of Ozone & how many such claimed air ionisers/purifiers are truly MAINLY Ozonisers. Also the FDA safe Ozone level. rolleyes.gif

QUOTE(lowyatsuperman @ Sep 22 2011, 09:21 PM)
BTW I have been comparing FLX FC as follows. This is not conclusive as I am only using my 3rd full tank so far:
RON97: Around 15 - 20 sen/km; or 14-18km/L
RON95: Around 24 sen/km; or 8km/L

It seems like RON97, while more ex, gives better economy.
*
RON 95...8Km/L BUT RON 97...14-18Km/L (avg 16Km/L?) whistling.gif
Wat yu're saying is RON 97 gives yu 2X (double) the dist travelled for 1L??
Price/L of RON 97 is NOT 2X that of RON 95, correct?

If above is true, then using RON 97 is WORTH wat we pay for it!!! TRUE?

Kinda feel buyers of Sagas, be it BLM, FL, or FLX, shld alwaz rber that Sagas are intended for the ordinary guy/fmly who wants to go fr A to B in a basic but reasonably comfortable car which he can afford to own...??

Then no worries, rite?

Not need talk/compare/complain abt power, acceleration, max speed, etc., etc., etc. True? whistling.gif

Enjoy yr rides... icon_rolleyes.gif

ps. For those who wanna go that extra mile, with $$$ to invest, Sagas also open a whole new world for yu to mod & improve yr rides the best way yu can... icon_idea.gif
Never forget tho that Sagas, as is, are wat they are...Sagas, the car for the man-in-the-street. icon_rolleyes.gif

Yeah, that's true. It's like someone go test drive a trishaw and complain why it cannot compete with 10-gear mountain bike.  hmm.gif

On a personal note, I think at 45K, FLX is the best buy for the money. Cheaper and better than "lagi best." At least it's got a proper boot to fix high-end speakers for ICE.  rclxms.gif
*
Yup, Bro! And tks 4support! rclxms.gif notworthy.gif

Feel so sorry for (& also kenot understand why) those who (after buying Sagas) complain eg :
1. why their Saga acceleration not that good;
2. why their Saga kenot reach a certain Max Speed;
3. why Saga Auto power/FC is not as good as their former manual car;
4. why the tyres that came with their Sagas not hv better roadholding or so noisy;
5. why NVH is of lower std than other cars;
AND lots lots more... sad.gif

Frankly don't ppl find out enuf abt the car they wanna spend RM40k++ for b4 they sign away those precious $$$$$?
Many gonna pay every mth for mayb nxt 9 years (not 9 mths!) for something they start complaining abt juz after a few days/weeks?

How to survive the 8+ years to go? rolleyes.gif

Me juz wonder... doh.gif

so i got my auto brake lock module from the seller recommended by zeone and today i finally diyed it
just want to share where the brake trigger would go so i snapped two pix
[attachmentid=2450250]
this is after installation~

[attachmentid=2450255]
this is where the wire should go just strip the wire slightly longer and then just slip it in! rclxms.gif
*
Firstly, congrats, Bro, on yr successful DIY ABL installation!! rclxms.gif notworthy.gif

Btw if the brake sensor cable is juz "pushed" in2 terminal of rear brake power cable in socket, there's a possibility it may be dislodged one day... tongue.gif

Wat I did was : strip a bit insulation off the brake power cable to rear brake lamp & attach the sensor cable. (An acceptable way of tapping into another cable.)
Then wrap with insulation tape. thumbup.gif

If not wanna do that, mayb juz use a cable tie & tie the near end of sensor cable to the nearest part of wire harness nxt to socket. This shld prevent cable fr coming loose. icon_idea.gif

I also stuck the ABL module onto the alarm metal bracket by using dbl-sided tape. tongue.gif

Reset button?

Wat u mean is the small buttock beside the 'double signal' button? Tat 1 not just the small small LED only meh?  rclxub.gif
*
Yup, that button!!
The LED blinks when alarm is activated. However, it's also the alarm reset button.
And with this OEM ABL installed, it also works to unlock ALL doors! rclxm9.gif
