QUOTE(V12Kompressor @ Sep 26 2011, 08:18 PM) OMG... just now my FLX give me a shock of my life. Looks like FLX's CVT got "teething" (major??) probs?I was turning into Kampung pandan (Aminuddin Baki) and suddenly the CVT Warning light comes on!!!!!!!!! OMFGGGG!!!! The gearbox is like just jammed at 1,800rpm and the speed just stay at constant 40km/h. No matter how much throttle input, the speed and rpm just wont raise. Stopped by roadside and turn off engine a while then start back. Warning light gone and got home safely without any unwanted incidents. Better go SC 2moro ASAP!! 2nd case oledi... |

So....
With all views expressed re "oversteer" & "understeer", which category does BLM/FL/FLX belong to? And how to correct it? By "modding" the car and/or way of driving? Feel some "education" here wld b most welcomed by all who own or drive Sagas...TQ!! This post has been edited by zeone: Sep 26 2011, 11:09 PM |

Nothing we can do abt it @ that time! peace? hehehe. add-on: shit happens, so just take or throw. But for ordinary driver, if kno car = oversteer type or understeer, mayb can increase limit b4 breaking point? Thru simple mods or driving style? Feel wld b good advice...& wld help many... |

QUOTE(SiuYi @ Sep 26 2011, 11:23 PM) zeone In other words, 1 way 2improve on "breaking point" is to :i duno.i know my B-line r13 just cant make a good turn around the roundabout. but i upgrade it to sapura lowered and r15 taiwan rims with 195/50 tyres plus 3max 4 point front strut, semua settle. if my car still buang, then is the tyre grip issue liaw, not the steering lor. p/s; i drive my gf's lmst buang at cornering wei..oversteer. pasal ada pasir kat jalan masa buat kornering lor. hehehe. 1. Lower car ie lower centre of gravity; 2. Wider rims & tyres ie providing better grip on road. TQ 4that! NB. Use of chassis strengthening bars dependent on budget - Bro SiuYi. TQ. QUOTE(V12Kompressor @ Sep 26 2011, 11:55 PM) my opinion, malaysia should add defensive driving in driving school curriculum too. The 2 second rule isn't enough. Should know how to anticipate and avoid dangers caused by other people's bad driving. Support addition of Defensive driving. Mayb even advanced driving courses?ABS is the perfect example. Many cars nowadays already equipped with ABS but not many driver know how to use it properly. ABS? To most, got ABS means they juz step on brake pedal & brakes take care by thenselves!! Wanna do wat summore? Hv yu seen the promo diagrams? Haha! |

QUOTE(V12Kompressor @ Sep 27 2011, 12:11 AM) this is where everyone gets it wrong. Yup...yu kno dat...& a no. of us also BUT many esp new drivers don't!! It is called "Anti-lock" for a reason. In an event of emergency braking, ABS will prevent wheels from locking up and allows the driver to steer the car out of danger. Merely stomping on the brake pedal and let the system do the job is more like EBD's job. Also promo diagrams show ABS & EBD got together. Nvr tell abt driver needs to keep cool AND STEER the car out of danger!! Whose fault? Education failed? Car companies? Driving Schools? JPJ? Drivers themselves? |

Good morning, Bros!
After last nite's discussion, somehow cld not help feeling that all, who can contribute info & guide to help our fellow Saga users, would b saving them a lot of $$$, headaches & heartaches...mayb even LIVES... How? By providing CONCRETE steps towards improving further the safety & stability of Sagas ie affordable ones for the regular user plus sp mods for the enthusiast. ALL these steps shld be compiled & PINNED AND REPEATED in every new thread (Version) in this forum for easy reference. Re VW incident related in post earlier, changes made improved tremendously a highly-oversteering car to become a SAFE car for average fmly! Those needed changes were published repeatedly in a VW "Safer Motoring" mag. Any support? TQ in adv. ps. Probably a new slogan? "Sharing saves Lives!" |
