In this world, there will alwaz be ppl who will try to cover their own insecurities by bad-mouthing/bashing(?) other ppl's choices wan. doh.gif

Let them be. We are at a much higher level than them. NOT need to stoop as low as them. Ok?

Enjoy yr chosen rides, pls... thumbup.gif icon_rolleyes.gif

Hey FLX owners here..
Can I ask which one of door rubber is FLX using?
The "after" or "before"??
Cz if is "before" den im gonna order the OEM door rubber dy b4 my car reach my house, hehehe..
*
All Sagas incl FLs came with the "Before" door edging only! Presumably FLX also same...knowing Proton! Haha! whistling.gif

I recently added in the "After" to my FL. thumbup.gif

@mysoo : Does using RON97 in FL make that great a difference? I've been using RON95 since getting my FL 5 mths ago & it appears 2b happy with that 95 juice... whistling.gif

Proto recommendation is MINIMUM RON 95. So if NO adulteration by uknohu, then ok lo BUT if someone does try to make some xtra bucks, then rating is sure to be BELOW RON 95!! True?

Mayb try 1 tankful @nxt fill-up and see? icon_idea.gif

That one already face before also. After switching off the engine if there's something "kacau" the wiring at the boot, the alarm wont automatically sound but it will just flash hazard five times.

But now is alarm suddenly sound when engine is still running and gear position is slotted into P.

But now no problem already kua. Today start car hundred times edi also no sudden alarm sound. lol
+1

Hi Bro...
Guess yr alarm sys is now really "automatic" type...mayb having IQ of its own?
If can claim, claim for replacement or else mayb time for 3rd party one?

Take a couple of Panadols until then, ok? No more headaches! brows.gif brows.gif

your "After" is small D or Big D? just stick to the existing rubber is it? and does it make significant improvement? thanks..
*
I bought the OEM type. Dun hv those Big or Small "D" choices.
Old lining has 2b removed & replaced by NEW
one. smile.gif

@gogoman86 : Outside noise reduced significantly with doors closing more solidly. However road/tyre noise still there tho.
Reasonably cheap easy DIY item. thumbup.gif

Added on September 17, 2011, 11:21 amUPDATE re Auto Brake Lock :

Hv discovered after reading post in BLM Club where a forummer reported that his OEM ABL does not need a separate UNLOCK button.

Yup, the Ori RESET button ( the black one nxt to the red Hazard Warning Lights button) works to UNlock ALL doors at any time after pressing brake pedal to lock them!! thumbup.gif

I hv oledi tested mine & it WORKS!!! The wonders of OEM items!! Works like Ori part of car!! rclxms.gif rclxm9.gif

btw, the tyre noise and rain water splash noise from tyre, i might thinking to add a layer of wheel liner to it something look like this :
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

i think our Saga lack of this liner which can work as sound proofing...  sweat.gif

and about the Auto Break Lock, you mean after installing those OEM ABL which come without unlock button, we still can unlock the door by pushing the Alarm Reset button next to Hazard Warning button?  hmm.gif
*
Re wheel liner thing, thot oledi got in wheel arches (FL Exec)? Esp front? Hv look see...?

Re ABL, yup, that's the button/switch.... The one that has a dot that blinks when alarm activated. tongue.gif

That guy is a "SMART ALECK"!
Why?
Simply becoz he puts in Bardahl 1 (an oil additive/engine protector) to protect his engine so that the Murni cooking oil is juz 4show nia...

Cos NO difference if put Murni or even run w/o any oil!!! brows.gif

I rber clearly tests carried out & certified by AAM with journalists many years ago. Car engines with added B-1 then drained completely of oil cld b driven (if me mem not fail) to Bukit Kayu Hitam & even up Genting w/o oil!! Haha! rclxm9.gif

Juz 2share .... tongue.gif

Juz did my ride's 5k Km (2nd) Service @SC. Petronas Semi-Synthetic 800 10W40 was used. Total cost? RM124.25.
Bill contents as below :

Also asked mech to help replace stock NGK spark plugs to Denso Iridium Power spark plugs (IT20).
Labour charge : RM8
Pic of Denso Iridium IT20 :
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Will post if I do notice any significant difference now that my ride would be running on those Denso plugs. icon_idea.gif brows.gif brows.gif

ps. Since the SC used the vacuum suction method of removing the used engine oil, me requested for the unused copper Gasket, Drain Plug, so that I may be able to use it if the need arises in future. After all, I paid for it liao. rolleyes.gif

the 4 sided very cool one is the fusion...the one he bought normal looking spark plug

Yup, I did. tongue.gif No mention of what SP that was changed in my Service Handbook. Also NOT billed in official bill. Me paid the mech personally. So if SC changed for me, it means they approved the change, correct?
So methinks re the warranty aspect, it shld be OK lo... rolleyes.gif

I've used the Bosch Super 4 before in my ole ride. Feel somehow the fusion one is similar but juz of different materials. Thought of trying out Denso cos of the Iridium tech part cos Bosch wan not really same tech as Denso... whistling.gif

If not wrong, Bosch fusion also cheaper...? tongue.gif

For those still asking about FLX FC, I just drove to Singapore and worked out costs to be around 20 sen per km using Shell VPower (RON97) at RM2.80/L.

Travelled 382km using approx 26.34L of petrol. Average speed 80-110kmph, 90% on highway. Car only 10 days old and this is first tank. I expect consumption to improve after engine run-in.
*
Wow! Dat's good F*!! Avg of 14.5Km/L!! thumbup.gif
Keep it up & yu'll b the envy of all who pop in here! rclxm9.gif

Btw RON97 also gives better mileage than 95. Me found that 2b true, even when using ole ole Saga!
However price diff too great or else 97 anytime better, rite?
Thought can save $$ abit using 95 now coz new Sagas can use lo.
NB. Actually Proton specifies AT LEAST RON95!! So if fuel we buy truly 95 then ok lo. BUT izzit really 95? whistling.gif

SC ppl feed our cars... Not us! We juz pay them for their services... rolleyes.gif
So as is, fyi most of us hv NO choice & our rides hv 2b happy with Petronas Semi Syn 10W40... thumbup.gif

@plain_white : There are various schools of thought in wat yu're asking...no hard & fast rules re modern engines. tongue.gif
Try Googling for them. Then decide for yrself.

Most common advice? Drive yr car the way yu wld "normally" drive it. Juz dun overstrain it... icon_rolleyes.gif

ps. My FL was driven abt 140Km the day after delivery! doh.gif

IMHO if out of warranty, for similar (mayb even better?) items @lower cost, better 2do outside lo. tongue.gif

Btw are BLM/FL parts or compatible ones available in the usual "Spare Parts" shops?
Or do we hv NO choice but to buy those Proton Approved/Genuine Parts?

VS wont help for new car.

Same goes to grounding cables.

Those who got new cars and say VS got help are experiencing a severe case of Placebo Effect.
*
Sorry, bro, but feel (IMHO) to say VS won't help new car TOTALLY is not 100% correct also... whistling.gif

A VS has its function...namely as a Voltage Stabiliser...which it does do to a certain extent (depending on its capacity & other factors)...ie it stabilises the voltage of the output from the battery. And frankly, that's all it does... thumbup.gif

So if that's yr aim in installing it, well & fine... biggrin.gif

Fuel savings, more power, etc...hv to agree here that VS does NOT give yu all those...I hv used own built-up VS & various models of local VS in my old ride. As bro ericmaxman & others who hv commented said, whatever effects "felt" are probably a "placebo" effect!

And yup, grounding cables not really help new cars which hv oledi good earthing and connections...unless, of course, someone @assembly plant did NOT attach/tighten certain cables properly!! brows.gif Then yu wld hv had probs fr day one... sweat.gif

In the end...finally, if having it makes yu happy, go for it! Anything that brings happiness to us is worth whatever $$ we paid for it!!! icon_rolleyes.gif
