I moved those to the rear doors but bought a couple of nicer reflector-type door protectors to replace them for the front doors. rolleyes.gif

Try using iso-propyl alcohol (alcohol swaps) or WD40? Works in my case... wink.gif

Background to this present thought: Previously stock plugs of ole ride replaced by Bosch Super 4 set. Only <RM50. Felt smoother idling, easier starting & smoother acceleration noticeable. BUT that ride oledi really OLD...whistling.gif

So spark plugs change comes under "Things that work with conditions"?
Well, BTW me am getting the plugs fr Drex lo... rclxm9.gif

Not expecting anything phenomenal... Juz improving ignition system so as to ensure smoother firing & mayb better combustion of fuel(?) nia. Cos the heart of an internal combustion engine is that important tiny SPARK which starts it & keeps it moving! True?

Next DIY mayb a local VS? Used 2hv one (Zaptor Gold...now called Evolve) fr HuaKenny lo.

If car kenot start, dun keep on trying...gonna KO battery lo... sad.gif Always wait a few mins b4 each try AND dun keep on pumping on accelerator...
Old carb types, we hv to press accelerator fully down...dunno abt BLM/FL/FLX with run by wire accelerators tho. whistling.gif

If know how, chk for the usual...got sparks at plugs, petrol, etc.
Otherwise, if SC/mech nearby, mayb call for help? Good luck...

Battery failure very common for BLM/FL. Now even FLs?
My bro-in-law's BLM SE battery failed within 1st week of use in town!! Called SC & threatened to go public via media! SC mechs came & changed batt on the spot!! Phew! doh.gif

My own batt also came with loose +ve terminal!! Luckily I did my own checking after delivery AND tightened it...or else I wld hv been stranded very soon after! Radiator coolant & w/shield washer water also much below Max level (still ok tho - in no danger of car failure)
Felt all these due2 POOR Pre-Delivery inspection service carried out, if any!!! mad.gif

Feel we must hv basic knowledge of car parts & functions so can carry out our own chks when need to. True?

An Update on latest DIY :

Good News is : Got my ordered set of Denso Iridium Spark Plugs earlier sent by Bro Drex!

Then me removed the 4 small bolts/screws holding down the Engine Cover. Cld see the row of 4 COP & their respective power supply cables & connectors.
One more but long bolt holding the first COP was removed & the COP was pulled off to expose the Spark Plug.

Now the BAD News: The spark plug is deep deep down a rather long cylindrical tube!! Not reachable by the Spark Plug socket that me got... doh.gif
Had to "surrender" on this DIY project... sweat.gif

Really caught UNprepared cos had nvr faced such a deeply embedded spark plug... rclxub.gif

So...unless me go buy slim type spark plug socket wrench, it looks like gotta do the changeover to the new Iridium plugs when send for nxt service (5k Km one almost due) @my local SC. rolleyes.gif

we dn't have the proper tools to do it
i saw the turning the spark plug and use some magnetic long thing to suck it up
not so easy
*
Yup, I attempted DIY replacement cos din kno design & location of BLM/FL Spark Plugs hv been changed so much! whistling.gif
And yup, a sp long T-piece socket wrench holder with a magnetic spark plug socket wrench are needed to do so. And I dun hv them! sad.gif

Anyway I browsed & found these (as a set) are available in lelong.com for RM35 + RM5 del.

On 2nd thoughts, it wld b cheaper & less sweat.gif to hv it done @SC cos it's only once in at least 80k Km when changed to Denso Iridium ones! Agreed?

So will do so @nxt service...real soon... rolleyes.gif

Luckily 4 hours wasn't enough to drain my battery dry. Had no problems starting my car @.@... Saw a wira parked next to my car in 1U this afternoon with the small light still on as well. However, his car was still there after 6 hours. o_o...

Actually, I'm using Rain-X and I'm loving it. Wipers are smoother, unless the windscreen is still rather dry.

No more stains and water marks on my windscreen and water flows off the windscreen effortlessly, giving me a clear view.
*
Yup, agreed! RainX works! Is good esp in heavy rain/ reasonable speed/ with windy conditions.
However, if wipers are used in slight drizzles, they will judder... sad.gif
I've changed to new wipers b4 (even Bosch ones) and the juddering wiper action still returns... doh.gif

Finally, it became (as alwaz?) a matter of choice. A clear easily viewed road ahead in medium to heavy rain conditions? Or wipers judder in drizzles?

I've chosen the better of the two. Guess which one... rolleyes.gif

bro, im using it for years, no issue for wipers.u dun apply it on the wiper, just the glass will do.those what u heard are just myth.

Hi...

Yup, most of wat ppl say abt RainX is myth...
However, that part of "jerky" or wiper judder (unfortunately) is kinda true... rolleyes.gif
I experienced that fr time2time and sad to say, changing to new wipers do not eliminate that "side effect". Frankly I still do NOT know wat causes the wiper judder/jerkiness.

Someone did say something abt uneveness of application of the RainX or does it react with the wiper material eg hardening it maybe? Really dun kno... doh.gif

WTFlah, today morning when driving from my friend's house back to my home, after I parked my car, suddenly the car alarm activated while the engine is still running! Some neighbours come out see see.

Early in morning, my car buat bising around my neighbourhood. public holiday somemore. sweat.gif
*
Do eliminate simple causes first ie chk all door contacts followed by bonnet AND likely suspect, nanely Boot contacts!!
Pls refer 2pic me posted some time back re location of & wat those contacts look like (not normal like door ones!).

Good luck! icon_idea.gif

Ouch, eric, feel bad for you. I suppose you'll have to leave it in the sun to dry, then seal it yourself with silicone glue?
I think you misunderstood what v12kompressor meant. He meant the alarm triggered while engine still running on its own. He did not switch on the alarm. So I doubt it's what you mentioned.
*
Sorry...probably not wat caused by wat me posted since engine still running! :paiseh:

So mayb caused by wat MR_alien suspected?

Another mayb alarm fuse/connections faulty? Saw one case @SC re Persona alarm sounding when ignition on. SC ppl traced to faulty connection/fuse @ fusebox in engine bay. Replaced fuse. No more alarm sounding. tongue.gif

saga's alarm is easily exposed to water
like maybe rain/ he cross flood
mine doens't ring....mine just will "hmmmm" continuous sound
some users might know it...after that it will stop by itself
but not sure will trigger itself or not
*
Most earlier cars hv alarm modules in cabin space ie inside car interior eg driver or passenger area/centre console, etc.

However, Saga alarm unit location on LHS of boot...juz behind boot carpet cover. So, as yu suspect, it's easy to kena water esp if boot is opened when raining!

So best to avoid that scenario eg protect that side fr kena rain, if possible? Use of umbrella? tongue.gif

For more permanent protection, mayb cover unit with plastic sheet or similar waterproof materials? icon_idea.gif

@ericmaxman : Tks, Bro, for 2nd pic info. notworthy.gif
