Using company property to trade own business? Better u stop from doing it..

Your situation is same as mine, as my MNC company in Ampang + Melaka
got superb network bandwidths directly to Silicon Valley and Dallas.
Even the company's network bandwidth is great, there is always an authentication record,
system LDAP logs, computer cache records, firewalls details, that prove/show your "whole"
personal / business activities, FYI and some software has "cloned" /replica of your
computer. In my MNC, they were 50 IT Security ppls 100% responsible
just to monitor yr emails/email attachments/temporary internet files/caches,wall paper ..etc..etc

Subscribe to OWN local broadband internet service provider ( cost ~ rm200 monthly ) and surf / trade like king
without any restriction/worry abt using company property for own business and subject to displinary/termination action if found guilty?
*
That's one of my perks in my company. I am allowed to do this and no problems at all.
I am also issued company 3g/4g cards to be used at home or anywhere else for personal and work related stuff. wink.gif

Unless you're not using a live account, you should NOT get a 15mins delay quotes even with slow Internet speed.
Otherwise, if it is really Internet issue, I mean web browsing and watching YouTube will be 15mis lag too. Right?
Gosh... even email can travel faster than 15 mins nowadays in around the world.

Are you sure you got live eTrade account? hmm.gif

Wanna get some exposure in us stock.. nvr play before. Always play malaysia. Need to diversify more.

Got my itrade account ready for hk, sg and us market.

Basically.. want to ask.. is there any delay in trading the us market? 15 minutes?
*
i'm using itrade.
i'm not sure how many minutes late, but the new platform improves a lot on foreign market's delay. It's seems now less than 15 mins late, looks more like 15 seconds late....not very sure though. However, on the buy/sell box at lower left corner when you click on the stock, the buy/sell price seems less delay....probably just 1 second or so delay only. However, we can only see 1st buy/sell price, nothing more than that over there. hmm.gif

danmooncake
itrade (from cimb) is using a "cheaper subscription for foreign market feed", so it is not real-time. shakehead.gif

however, i wish a big bear attack since i only able to buy my 1st batch. I wish to buy my 2nd batch at lower price, maybe 450?....but also need RM to be strong since i'm using itrade and it grabs current exchange rate. So it's kind of forex+stock 2-in-1 trade there, complicated. RM has been volatile lately, easily 5% difference in few days time. laugh.gif

I see.. you don't really have access to ETrade, but iTrade (thru CIMB). For a brief moment, I thought it was the US broker ETrade.

Yes, in this case, iTrade is just a local platform for local user but they may not get live quotes from US stock exchanges directly.
That's why you got a delay data feed like 15 mins (just like Yahoo or Bloomberg).

If you wish to see real-time chart, just have to sign up for US based brokers (like OptionExpress, ScottTrade, TDA Ameritrade, MBTrading, etc)

At one time when I was KL, I was able to see near real time quotes too on my mobile phone (using the ThinkorSwim app) on local
prepaid 3G card. Therefore, Internet (slight) delay isn't a problem even in Malaysia.

It is just that your local broker isn't getting real live data but delay quotes from another 3rd party. That's means your (buy/sell) order most likely goes thru another third party exchange. You better not put in any Market order. Limit order must be used otherwise in volatile market can be dangerous for getting unwanted price executed. nod.gif

Hmm.... hmm.gif
So in conclusion, you mean Cimb iTrade is 15 seconds delay and hence not real time enough? Or there are delay for more than 15 seconds?

If the delay is 15 minutes, I think iTrade is not suitable for day trading at all for foreign market like US.

This is last chance for bears to take control otherwise no more chance if there is resolution coming from Washington.
