If Syrian war erupts, GLD will shoot up and most equity will fall?

War on Syria will be like Libya i.e. limited and short lived. Believe there are more oil production than demand, any spike in oil price will only be temporary.

If you believe that, you can Sell/Short into the rally and buy the dips for equity.
When they decided not to strike (or postpone), the market will rally, oil/gold/usd will fall.

I like to see if there is straddle play here for either side. brows.gif

US now got no support. UK bailed. France also thinking about bailing. US Congress pissed at Obama.
I think Obama wants to bluff Syria but Assad not caving it. Difficult to proceed.

I'm staying in cash and off tonight .No trading for long holiday weekend.

I wonder is Syrian really uses chemical attack on their citizens? Iraq was being accused of WMD possession, in the end nothing was found. Will this be another excuse for US to justify war? smile.gif
