QUOTE(PF T.J. @ Feb 26 2012, 06:24 PM) Came across a Samsung 7 series at Samsung@Gardens yesterday... man its a damn nice laptop The spec is considered as very good for the price, worth considering for businessmen or those who are always on the go 13" Samsung 7 series, i5-2430M + AMD HD6490M + (1600x900 [14" matte][300nit])@RM3599[2.07kg], W7HP, backlit keyboard I was there this afternoon. It's pretty good alright. Felt solid and the screen is quite a looker!

QUOTE(PF T.J. @ Feb 27 2012, 09:27 AM) Wow, so coincidental? I love the HD+ screen, very bright, matte some more... And I have to say the price is not bad also compared to the 13" Vaio But 14" with HD6490M lah bro. If 13" even more gooding.

QUOTE(PF T.J. @ Feb 27 2012, 11:04 AM) I see I see, thanks for the input If only its a Dell I doubt most business users here won't be very confident with getting a Samsung business notebook... not really sure how reliable they are Still loyal to the U47 bro? Well, only time will tell. Need some guinea pigs to try Still loyal until I find out about the GPU. As long as it's a GT630M and above.

Imagine if the XPS 13 comes with a full powered CPU, it's battery life will be even shorter!

About 80+% faster than the HD3000. Which kinda puts it at GT335M levels..

QUOTE(Borsch Soup @ Mar 7 2012, 10:48 AM) A cheaper TimelineX rm1899 This, is not really such a bargain since it has a weaker processor and no discrete GPU. Through I'm sure the throttling issue still isn't solved yet.

QUOTE(PF T.J. @ Mar 11 2012, 11:14 AM) I'd noticed that almost all the lightweight laptops come with AMD GPUs (AMD HD64xx, HD74xx) rather than Nvidia ones, any idea why that is so? Is it because of the lower heat emissions? Down the ladder, AMD has made quite good progress with low power consumption, heat emission and performance chips. So, not much of a surprise especially seeing how well their desktop graphics are doing.

Well, Nvidia's CUDA is more used compared to its AMD counterpart. They really pushed hard for it. The new U3X/4X series would have Nvidia chips. Problem is, which one??

U3x I'm thinking will probably either be IGP or GT610M Think so, or run the program with the Nvidia GPU I guess.

Well, probably. I'm just hoping they'll stuff a GT635M in it if not a GT640M. Iinm, the GPU's CUDA cores still aren't so optimized compared to a real workstation GPU's.

Well, I know for one thing I might put my U41SV purchase on hold now. Was thinking of getting rid of the A42JV, get the U41SV for cheaps and then sell off for the U47VC.
