Hi,

Saw a lot of recommendation on Asus.
1. Is Asus notebooks reliable (in general) ?
2. How is the warranty service esp. in Penang ?
3. Is the N55Sf having the GPU issue as N45Sf that someone mentioned before ?

Thanks !
*
iinm, asus now got 3 service outlets and offers pickup service for its notebook. n55sf seems to be fine, only n45sf is affected and partially solved.

for 14" i suggest these:
Asus
A43Sv, i5-2410M + Nvidia GT540M(2GB)@RM2499
A43Sa-VX011v, i5-2410M + AMD HD6730@RM2499

DELL
Inspiron 14R (N4110), i5-2410M + AMD HD6630@RM2349, 4GB, 640GB, *Big Giant Plaid!Lid

for 15"
Asus N55Sf-S2043v [black], i5-2430M + Nvidia GT555m (2GB) + 1600x900@RM2799[Bang & Olufsen]; USB3.0, Sonic Master subwoofer (push a lil if you dont mind) wink.gif <<< this hot...
remaining 300 can buy bag, mouse and other things too.. except you buy the highly branded and expensive bag and gaming mouse, so can consider the 14" too..

Thx for the reply notworthy.gif

My initial preference was Inspiron 14R but the Asus N55Sf-S2043v seems more tempting smile.gif

Still, I read that the asus warranty is not that great and dell warranty is the best compared to other laptop.

But dell laptop also seems to have heat problem hmm.gif

what do you guys think?

The Asus N55sf is 15" in size, so in general the cooling would be better~
Summore the HD+ matte screen would be nice to have~

Dell does offer the best warranty support (in-home) so that'll be a plus for Dell laugh.gif
Still, My vote goes to the Asus laugh.gif

well, im told by a salesperson that dell warranty is in-site, meaning they will come to your place to inspect the hardware.

For asus, you would have to bring to their center.

And also, dell offer better warranty coverage like CompleteCover Accidental Damage Protection while Asus only cover the hardware defect
