Asus mainly >2K for Core i5 and for <RM2K, you only get GT520M with Intel processor, which is weaker than the A43Ta...
*
GT520M lose alot to the liano?
and GT520 with GT540 different alot?
i found some website compare, and i dont know how big different in game effect.. from the 2 compare i saw is cuda core and memory interface width kinda big diff..
so if want i5 asus <2k = 520m
acer i5 <2k = 540m?

Yup, lose alot. The Llano GPU is comparable with GT525M/GT540M..
GT520M is comparable with AMD HD6470M..

and no, Asus <RM2K is i3 + GT520M. Core i5 is > RM 2K

Helping someone ask.

1. Preferred Brand - None, Apple/Asus/Dell in mind but open to all others.
2. Budget - Roughly 4k max, not more.
3. Usage - Mild graphics, photoshop/dreamweaver and Facebook smile.gif
4. Preferred laptop/screen size - 11,13,14,15 or whatever also can.

To note, portability is very important. Looking for something quite light but yet pack a punch.

Hi,

Saw a lot of recommendation on Asus.
1. Is Asus notebooks reliable (in general) ?
2. How is the warranty service esp. in Penang ?
3. Is the N55Sf having the GPU issue as N45Sf that someone mentioned before ?

Thanks !

hi everyone,

i am looking for a laptop and have a budget less than RM2000.00.

which brand should I go for? hp or dell or other brands? hopefully they have the right warranty, so say anything rosak will come and fix it? i think dell got, not sure about other brands.

which model do you recommend? i heard from friends that dell always has driver issues, here rosak and there. so i better ask here to avoid issues like that.

i don't need advance laptop. just for basic word processing stuff, surfing, etc. if can lightweight better. Normal screen, no need wide screen.

windows xp or windows 7 also can.

is it better i buy online via the vendor's website or go lowyat and buy? what's the difference?

p.s. I am getting my sister a birthday present though smile.gif and i know she doesn't use it for games or etc. only for home work and assignments.

Thanks in advance.

iinm, asus now got 3 service outlets and offers pickup service for its notebook. n55sf seems to be fine, only n45sf is affected and partially solved.

for 14" i suggest these:
Asus
A43Sv, i5-2410M + Nvidia GT540M(2GB)@RM2499
A43Sa-VX011v, i5-2410M + AMD HD6730@RM2499

DELL
Inspiron 14R (N4110), i5-2410M + AMD HD6630@RM2349, 4GB, 640GB, *Big Giant Plaid!Lid

for 15"
Asus N55Sf-S2043v [black], i5-2430M + Nvidia GT555m (2GB) + 1600x900@RM2799[Bang & Olufsen]; USB3.0, Sonic Master subwoofer (push a lil if you dont mind) wink.gif <<< this hot...
remaining 300 can buy bag, mouse and other things too.. except you buy the highly branded and expensive bag and gaming mouse, so can consider the 14" too..

Thx for the reply notworthy.gif

My initial preference was Inspiron 14R but the Asus N55Sf-S2043v seems more tempting smile.gif

Still, I read that the asus warranty is not that great and dell warranty is the best compared to other laptop.

But dell laptop also seems to have heat problem hmm.gif

what do you guys think?
