from malaysian HP website states that it cost about rm34oo++ .
HP DV

did Low yatt pc store also sell on this price too ?

It depends the package, if you can find store that sell the HP DV6 without the Beats headset, it can reach that price..

Ada apa you guys wanna know? Maybe I'll get my dirty hands on it when my bro go work tongue.gif
Overall the build quality is magnificent shocking.gif Flexing is minimum, tried pressing the palm rest part beside touchpad, my hand hurts. Even my Lenovo can feel flexing
Somehow though, the graphics not showing correctly. The color gradient ada lines separating, not a smooth one. Not LED screen btw, angle deviate sikit colour gone negative
*
Try undervolting! and battery life.

You mean the screen, easily can see the gradient lines? If you connect to external monitor, got the same problem ?

How does undervolting help in this case? hmm.gif I didn't really explode the external monitor part, will try soon laugh.gif
Battery life... idle is about 15W discharge. Lasts about 4 hours?? Need confirmation on this tongue.gif
*
Undervolt helps in lower temperature..
The battery is 5200mAh ? If yes, should be almost 4 hours..

If you only restricted to those two brands, its pretty miuch depends how heavy is your gaming requirement, the Asus is gaming notebook while the Sony S is just a business notebook with low-entry graphic card, do note it has loud fan noise..

QUOTE(kembar4 @ Sep 12 2011, 02:16 AM)
Guys, Will be joining college next year after being in the work industry for over a year.

I currently own a Lenovo S10 netbook which has been serving me very well through the 2 years of me owning it, however I don't think its suitable for college usage.

What should I get instead?

1. Preferred Brand = Lenovo / Dell / Any generic brand
2. Budget = RM2000 - 3000
3. Usage = Mainly for reading / editing documents, browsing, media and light gaming.
4. Preferred laptop/screen size = 15.6 LED
Any recommendations?

P/s: I prefer it looking sleek and i hate those ACER types where the laptop is black in color but the keyboard is white. It looks horrid in my opinion. I like something that is black and nothing but black.

Justs a naming from the manufacturer, both referring to the same thing. Quality wise, can't judge by that naming..

QUOTE(OH- @ Sep 12 2011, 02:21 PM)
Helo guys, Can anyone recommend me a good laptop :
1. Preferred Brand - Not sure, any usual ones like Acer, Dell, Alienware, Sager, etc2 but NO APPLE

2. Budget - RM 4500 (maybe can up a little bit)

3. Usage -can perform well for video edits, motion graphics and 3D designing? (As in render speed, smoothness in editing etc2)? Will be using a lot of After Effects and 3D Studio Max.
Also a bit of gaming

4. Preferred laptop/screen size - 15" and above

I know people would recommend me to get a desktop for these kind of uses, but I need a laptop because I'm always mobile.

Please don't recommend me Mac's coz they're underpowered overpriced doh.gif

Thanks! smile.gif smile.gif

HP DV6 or Asus G53Sx,
