1. Brand. - Any good brand which makes you stand out in d crowd tongue.gif
2. Budget. - About RM3-5k ( not above 5 if can )
3. Specs. -

At least a good i5 / i7 processor, 4gb ram ddr3 , 500gb or more hdd , chiclet style keyboard or similar, backlited if possible, blueray doesnt matter , powerful 1gb or more gpu , LONG lasting battery, at least standby about 3-4> hours , gaming at least 2-3hours+ , MUST BE 13-15" ONLY. 17 WAY TOO HEAVY..

ps : if it has those usb port whereby it can charge or power up usb devices without the laptop being on , thats a huge factor too tongue.gif ( i know toshiba laptop got )

4. Size. - 13"-15" only, less den 3.5kg.

Can consider Alienware M14x laugh.gif
But then gaming on battery for 2-3 hours on a laptop is currently impossible laugh.gif

i read reviews/comments abt MSI GE620DX, users said it gets hot when gaming (more than 90 C)
im in dilemma now~
Asus N55sf (i5) = lower cpu, bad keyboard
MSI GE620DX (i7) = gets hot, lower resolution

im thinking of adding HP Dv6-6001TX and Sager NP5165 to my list.
for Dv6, if buy without 'bang headset' how much it will be?
and Sager..err....how's the quality? really that good as its price?
p/s: i have zero knowledge abt sager...1st time know this brand =="

1. Preferred Brand: used Dell D420 12inch (Intel® Core™ Duo Ultra Low Voltage ULV-Processor U2500) 1.4Kg Notebook_Intel Core Duo Ultra Low Voltage_Dell Docking System
2. Budget: 800
3. Usage: media entertainment,surfing
4. Preferred laptop/screen size : 12"

I don't do gaming on this machine, just wanna have a good laptop with all the basic things and suit my portability needs. biggrin.gif

someone offered me above spec at RM800. and im currently looking for a replacement for my crappy compaq V3000.

can u justify whether it's worth for RM800 or not. He's giving away Free Original Dell External Docking System, attached with DVDRW+/- Burner Drive and total 7 USB Ports. Overall still in very good condition and good battery last about 2.30 hours.

and couple question more,

1. how much it will cost me if im going to upgrade for bigger >100GB HDD? (this dell used 1.8" instead of 2.5".

2. does the Ultra Low Voltage ULV-Processor really compromises the performance? izit comparable to the normal processor which at same speed?

3. or, u may suggest another model (wasnt necessary new). (i've seen 12" lenovo that contain optical drive, but i think that model discontinued.. cry.gif )

thanks a lot fellas .. rclxms.gif

Anyone buy laptops from US before? for same amount u're paying, u're getting sky and earth difference laptops from Dell USA and Dell Malaysia ler. doh.gif

For USD850 (times 3.11 to convert to RM), i can get Inspiron 17R with i7, 17inches screen, 8Gb ram, 2gb graphic card, BD rom combo with DVD/CD burner from Dell USA.

With similar amount of money which is Rm2600, the most i can get is Inspiron 15R with i7, 15.6" inches screen, 4gb ram, 1gb graphic card and only a DVD rom from Dell Malaysia. have to top up few hundreds to get BD rom.

Why is it so? Where's the logic? =/

Felt like asking friend who is studying there to bring back. U might say airport might take tax. WHere got? Everything put inside laptop backpack as hand carry to plane. But seems like kinda risky ler. anything kaput then GG. anyone try before?

Mine to elaborate more on this? hmm.gif

Im considering to take HP DV6 bcause some guys said that can get this model around 28XX without beats. brows.gif

But, thinking that Liano quite latest 1(gaming), then mayb should wait for HP DV6Z with A8 coming. Or maybe this model wont come to malaysia instead? hmm.gif

how about the warranty, have you considered it? from what i know, it is regional provided that country also offered the model, plus you need to get 3 years warranty to make it an international warranty. no sure though, please correct me if i'm wrong. but since dell malaysia doesn't offer inspiron 17r, it will a pain in the arse for the warranty if anything happened to the laptop
