went to midvalley just now to look at some laptops, really like the lenovo y470, thinner compared to n45sf.

but asus sales very good, n45 , u46sv, n55 i5 all out of stock.

the zenbook really very sexy. but the trackpad really put me off, otherwise it would be a mean machine.

lenovo u300 is very slim and sexy too.

Thanks!

I went to the Shop juz now.. i saw Acer not bad.

but the ASUS shop boss offers me a Demo spec of A43TA, he gives me RM300 discount. After discount RM1499.

I dun know wat is AMD processor. He said this laptop is good for Gaming. The performance is as good as I5. Is it true?

Should i consider it? As my previous post, i need this laptop for normal gaming (dota) and most of the time for Internet (FB).

14" laptops with 1600x900 resolution are mostly dull-looking laptops laugh.gif
Perhaps you would want to consider a MacBookPro 13 instead bro? brows.gif

biggrin.gif I wish but compatibility with custom software for window will be an issue. If the resolution can be lower any recommendation? Asus n55 series / Lanevo y470/ Vaio SB any other good model?

Asus N55 does have 1600x900 resolution, but its 15.6" in size, not exactly very portable laugh.gif
based on your requirements, you don't really need a very powerful laptop, and since you have a good budget, I would recommend you to take a look at Vaios, they do have better quality screens thumbup.gif
Perhaps these:

13"
Vaio VPCSB36FG, i5-2430M + AMD HD6470M@RM2999[1.72kg], colors: White/Silver/Pink/Blue/Black

14"
Vaio VPCEG28FG, i5-2430M + Nvidia G410M@RM2499[2.3kg], colors: Black/Blue/Pink/White; 2 years warranty
Vaio VPCCA35FG/R, i5-2430M + AMD HD6630M@RM2999[2.45kg], backlit keyboard; colors: red/purple/orange/pink/white/black

hi fellas,

i am planning to get a very good and solid laptop based on my work, which is basically heavy FX editing. extensive use of adobe premiere and after effects.

it been a while since i followed the hardware market so i am quite stuck. after some research and refreshment of uptodate knowledges of computer stuff, i came to a conclusion that Alienware can offer what i need.

i am aiming to get the Alienware m14x. my budget is around rm5000. rm4000 for laptop and another rm1000 to get maybe a 32' lcd TV to hook up to it.

besides alienware products, what other brands/models in the rm4000 price range that could get me a fast laptop for my usage?

..and no i dont prefer MBP. sticking with windows based.

thanks in advance rclxms.gif

I'm going to buy a new laptop in two weeks and I need your expertise.

1. Preferred Brand : Lenovo, HP, Dell, Asus (Any brand would do really)
2. Budget : 3,000 MYR
3. Usage : Web surfing, document writing, movie watching, moderate gaming (Starcraft II, Victoria II, Supreme Commander)
4. Preferred laptop/screen size : 14" - 15.6"

Many thanks my fine gentle-fellows.

Edit : Backlit keyboard would also be a big plus.

Can consider the HP Dv6 or Asus N55sf:
HP Dv6-6001TX, i7-2630QM + AMD HD6770M@RM2999 [2.63kg]; Beats headphones; RM2599 without Beats
Asus N55Sf-SX2353v [black], i5-2430M + Nvidia GT555m (2GB) + 1600x900@RM2799[Bang & Olufsen]; USB3.0, Sonic Master subwoofer

The Dv6 is better in terms of processing and gaming performance.
The Asus N55sf is better in having a higher resolution screen smile.gif
