hi fellas,
i am planning to get a very good and solid laptop based on my work, which is basically heavy FX editing. extensive use of adobe premiere and after effects.
it been a while since i followed the hardware market so i am quite stuck. after some research and refreshment of uptodate knowledges of computer stuff, i came to a conclusion that Alienware can offer what i need.
i am aiming to get the Alienware m14x. my budget is around rm5000. rm4000 for laptop and another rm1000 to get maybe a 32' lcd TV to hook up to it.
besides alienware products, what other brands/models in the rm4000 price range that could get me a fast laptop for my usage?
..and no i dont prefer MBP. sticking with windows based.
thanks in advance

Since portability isn't an issue, you can consider the Asus G53Sx as well bro

G53Sx-S1208v, i7-2670QM + Nvidia GTX560M (2GB)@RM3999, backlit keyboard, gaming backpack & mouse *word has it that the screen is FullHD

I'm going to buy a new laptop in two weeks and I need your expertise.
1. Preferred Brand : Lenovo, HP, Dell, Asus (Any brand would do really)
2. Budget : 3,000 MYR
3. Usage : Web surfing, document writing, movie watching, moderate gaming (Starcraft II, Victoria II, Supreme Commander)
4. Preferred laptop/screen size : 14" - 15.6"
Many thanks my fine gentle-fellows.
Edit : Backlit keyboard would also be a big plus.
Can consider the HP Dv6 or Asus N55sf:
HP Dv6-6001TX, i7-2630QM + AMD HD6770M@RM2999 [2.63kg]; Beats headphones; RM2599 without Beats
Asus N55Sf-SX2353v [black], i5-2430M + Nvidia GT555m (2GB) + 1600x900@RM2799[Bang & Olufsen]; USB3.0, Sonic Master subwoofer
The Dv6 is better in terms of processing and gaming performance.
The Asus N55sf is better in having a higher resolution screen
