67zai: Are you shooting RAW and then loading it in a RAW processing program? You are meant to tweak it again after that.

If it's JPG and it doesn't match, your PC screen is probably not calibrated. If it is an LCD, it is probably too bright by default (that's why printed photos are darker for most people, but it matches the screen.)

There is an option in Windows 7 somewhere in the Display Properties to quickly fix this.

yea i was shooting raw and then process by using lightroom 3.0.
but before this, i shoot jpg then put in lightroom, the colour seems dull too, i believe is my lcd is not calibrated, and using the window 7 display properties to fix, does nt makes much difference sad.gif

Also, Lightroom's color profiles are weak in the reds, making your pictures look like they came out of a Canon. Sony's IDC processor, and DxO Optics Pro, by default, make the reds more vibrant.

Technically the reds are too vibrant on Sonys and Lightroom is being "true" but I find the reds are what I like about the Sony color.

epo: First, make sure that you are not re-composing after focusing:
What camera body and lens combination are you using that is causing this?
*
Confirm no re-composing after focusing. Pic took at 1/60s with steady shot on. confirm no shaking...
Body A700 + lens 17-70mm f2.8-4

Based on below focus screen, to get sharp image, I need to use any 3 focus point on the left/right OR 1 focus point on the top/bottom
user posted image

1st... let the camera focus automatically & normally its choose center focus (focus at shirt)
2nd... focus manually using 1 focus point on the top (focus at face)

The output, 2nd pic is more sharper than the 1st one... sighhh...
I thought when we take a pic of people body, focus at shirt or face, give same sharp pics coz face in-line with shirt.
If the camera know focus at face more sharper, why its focus at shirt...?

The face IS on the same plane as the body, but relative to what? Question is, is your camera sensor perpendicular with the same plane? If your sensor (camera) is tilted, then it isn't anymore.

It's pretty obvious why your '2nd' pic would be sharper because you are using the focus point on to the face and I assume you did not recompose after that.

A700 does not have face detection, so it won't know of any face to place focusing importance on.
