I'm sorry, i root it with CF-Root-SGS2_XX_OXA_KH3-v4.1-CWM4, not KE8. may be i copy the wrong one.
*
Step by Step Guide
Power on Samsung Galaxy S2.
Connect USB cable to your phone.
Download the correct CF-Root CF Root here.
At PC, use 7-Zip to extract zImage (zip – tar – zImage) then copy it to sdcard.
Download the correct stock kernel Stock Kernelhere.
Extract stock kernel .tar file that you downloaded to Kernel folder.
Remove USB cable from your phone.
Then power off your phone.
Press and hold down Volume Down + Home + Power buttons at the same time.
Press Volume Up button when warning prompt.
Odin download mode will be loaded.
Connect USB cable to your phone.
Bring up Odin3.
Click on PDA.
Select the .tar at Kernel folder.
Click Start then.
Remove USB cable from your phone when you see green PASS! at Odin3.
After Android loaded, bring up CWM Manager.
Select Flash kernel ~ Flash a kernel.
Select zImage then click Flash.
That’s all.

In short, you need to have stock kernel of the firmware that you are using. Flash it with Odin after you rooted SGS2. The stock kernel will remove the yellow triangle. Then re-flash kernel from CF-Root using CWM Manager. This will bring back ClockworkMod Recovery.

Note – You need a CF-Root that matches your Samsung Galaxy S2 kernel version. And stock kernel that matches your firmware.

yeah i came from htc hd2 and saw this device and was so excited bout its capabilities (hardware wise) and saw great future but suddenly it disappoints me..even dual core script is not out yet. waiting for checkrom..
worried it will just be like my touch 3g couldnt even last a year

There's always ICS to wait for. But yeah, after the initial surge of ROMs and tweaks, it has slowed down a bit.

But really, I'm enjoying USING the SGS2 as much as I'm enjoying tweaking it, so it's not really a problem.

Besides, I'm a hardcore VR loyalist. That should show how much I'm not a serial flasher - VR has been on a KG6 base for quite a while now, plus I even held back from going up to the latest 2.4.2 for a month or so after it was released (stuck to VR2.0 for quite a while).

Plus, aerobahn's hold vol to change tracks (now updated to work with power menu) made me plenty happy already this month.

I came from HD2 as well. True SGS2 got nothing new. No new base rom, CM7 and MIUI is still incomplete so nothing much to do. HD2 was fun cos it is not native android so development took time with new rom better improvement. SGS2 is already android running 2.3.3 / 2.3.4. There really is nothing much to improve on until icecreamsandwich is released for phone. Can't really blame SGS2. Blame google. biggrin.gif

Did you tried CM7 and MIUI?
I don't see any point to port to Sense or iOS too..
Yes, switch from one ROM to the other do't give many surprise. Have to admit that.

But do you have other choice? Going back to Htc (Sensation) is more worst now.
*
i tried everything. i didnt like MIUI, despite all themes it have, cuz i like android pure experience more. CM7 is my all time favourite since day 1 i owned Desire on August last year. sticking to TW rom for now cuz of some features i need.

Sensation is great, but Evo 3D is better! though i still love my SGS2 cuz of its slim profile. and for me SGS2 is a dual core revolution phone so thats why i buy it.

QUOTE(syklspurs @ Sep 15 2011, 04:16 PM)
yeah lets just hope that. because i was torn in between sensation n sgs2 haha and finally got this but looking at sensation dev really omg. so fast! and to think sgs2 was unlocked and cm7 team were given few! haha that last 2 made me buy sgs2 but hopefully like u said, there will be more to come. just reached US today right?
*
Yeap HTC device is so OMG. i bought SGS2 cuz it was originally unlocked too.

btw uploading my video review of SGP case. haha...

haha thats partly true only, there are loads to do! CM7 is epic and still in nightly builds MIUI is still imcomplete. and we havent even get our second core unlocked!

not complaining just worried cause yes, the phone is awesome the way it is, but still, more customization n improvements are what android is all about smile.gif

Yeah I am still waiting for a stable CM7. Was on hyperdroid for a long time. But i seem to like TW cos its very smooth. I agree there will still be improvement, tweaks etc. but just dun expect it to be on the scale of HD2. HD2 android development started from nothing, SGS2 started from the top.

You just want to root your KH2 right? So now you have rooted with ChainFire KH3. So just flash back KH2 kernel. Look in this thread for the kernel. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278

You will end up with no yellow triangle and rooted KH2 rom

THIS.

And also HTC got lazy and used the HD2 as a base for all sorts of other phones, which meant easier cross ports. That's why we have Android AND WP7 running on it.

Plus, we can ALWAYS run en masse to the Nexus (or Galaxy or Droid or whatever) Prime when (and if it ever) comes out, and if it's really the next Google flagship. Dev should be rockin' from the start.

Although by that time we might have a great dev ecosystem going on for the SGS2 already, rite?

Sense 3.0 will take time cos its new but i think eventually it will get there cos SGS2 got a very big userbase and developers on XDA.

Added on September 15, 2011, 4:42 pm@Eiraku You lost your IMEI info recently is it due to the Battery Calibration app? Cos someone on XDA mention similar situation.

yup hopefully.

and SGS2 is too boring in development cuz it started from top as said above, which is we are too powerful to have anything else except some minor mods added.

i didnt mean to have ports and such like in Desire and HD2, just that in SGS2, its not too busy yet. the usual dev in Desire that have frequent updates for their roms is flamed by Ninpo and some other mods, and leaving the dev section. like Adam and Neo sad.gif
