QUOTE(Eiraku @ Sep 11 2011, 01:45 AM) Wasn't it you who first contacted me about the Estocs anyway lol. Scratch resistance is actually normal, like ultra crystal. Only diff is the scratches supposedly heal themselves (through rubbing in circular motion or by itself, magically). I can attest to the healing of microscratches through rubbing, happened a few times already. |

QUOTE(Eiraku @ Sep 11 2011, 01:56 AM) @DestEx & Ryutaro: No prob. And touch feels nice, not crystal/glas smooth, but not UltraOptics rough either. pls open a bulk for this, a lot sgs2 owner will interested...Addendum to the Estoc QuickReview: It has FINALLY started to pick up fingerprints and smears, but (provided you have a good clean microfibre cloth, cotton sleeve or some tissue paper handy) it's easy to clean. Nice. i just wasted my sgp ultra crystal, should not diy and ask any hp shop do for me... shit... |

It's like running a BMW M3 with all the nice comfort bits dumped out to maximize fuel mileage. I would like my air conditioning, soundproofing, airbags, ABS, stereo and leather bucket seats thank you. YMMV, however, and I know some would happily run the lightened M3 and enjoy better miles per gallon (while others would make it light and stick NOS and turbos in the engine to make it run like a freaking rocket). Android is open like that and it's great. But still, I DO watch out for sudden "OMG it's dead in 6 hours kthxbye" batt drops due to errant apps - a big issue stemming from the openness and multitasking nature of android (and the market). At least it's better nowadays. I mean, a dual core phone dead in 5-6 hours of 3G heavy use? My Axim x51v used to die after an hour or two of wifi surfing lol. Even my N900 died after 3-4 hours of 3G use. Don't forget the scare stories that used to go around about how long the old Desire used to run under heavy use lol. Things are getting better, really. And with the Momax, I seem to have FINALLY regained the 12-14 hours a day of heavy activity that I used to get with my external battery case equipped iPhone 4, so I'm happy. As an added bonus, it's still a bit thinner (and somewhat lighter) too. This post has been edited by Eiraku: Sep 11 2011, 03:52 AM |

QUOTE(Eiraku @ Sep 11 2011, 03:42 AM) I only use stock and fire up BBS only to measure wakelocks. Gave up "seriously" trying to strip things off the SGS2 to make it run faster as it was also compromising performance, usability and stability. seriously i agree, many people dont realise it until they got a smartphone and heavily using the net and apps, my nokia n96 and w800 both will die very quickly if wifi or 3g is on, yet many ppl dont realise it...It's like running a BMW M3 with all the nice comfort bits dumped out to maximize fuel mileage. Yep. They get mad when a single core, fake multitasking and push notification running i4 gets better battery life then a dual core phone running REAL background daemons that pull FRESH data in REAL TIME.And really, once you JB the i4 and add winterboard, activator, sbsettings, hapticpro, backgrounder to It, it gets 6-7 hours tops of straight heavy use anyway lol. With a 3.5 inch screen. And crappy reception. And a bluish patch in the middle of pictures. And heat issues. And EXTREME slowness while surfing on EDGE. People REALLY only see what they want to see lol. The i4 still tops my list in sound quality and low light photography though, and NOBODY HAS GIVEN ME A VIABLE ALTERNATIVE TO AIRVIDEO FOR 3G STREAMING, CAMERA+ FOR SPLIT TOUCH FOCUS AND METERING (even if Camera+ doesn't really "meter" anything, it just applies a fake gamma boost to pictures) AND PHOTOMATIC FOR RANDOM LOMOGRAPHY YET DARNIT. Other than that (and my quickly dying blue OLEDs + extremely soft earpiece volume, sometimes) I'm actually more then happy with the SGS2 right now. Tho if the Nexus/Galaxy prime DOES come with SGX graphics and SAMOLED+ HD, I will run off lol. I mean, HD resolution on a mobile? Who wouldn't? *ehem* Wokay, enough ranting lol.
