Wow...! I just re-read your post and I stumbled upon the highlighted statement...

That was THE IMPRESSION I got when I first drive my Alza outstation to Malacca... For a less-than-a-week car at that time, it really drives like a 10 year-old car...

Damn...! You're spot on...! notworthy.gif notworthy.gif

Dont understand what u said.
The seat belt is covered.
Rear passenger wont be able step on it.

Not all are covered, the other anchor point is al little bit further behind the front seat. Even if you slide back the front seats to the max, it still expose

When I drove the car this morning I smelt something 'fishy'. I thought my kids was eating
in the car last night. Then I saw this.

Dead gecko trapped in the aircon vent. No wonder it smelt like dried cuttlefish

Chicken, when I saw your thread about noise coming from B pillar, I played with the seat belt. So this morning when I drove the car, suddenly the rattling sound become louder.

So, what I did was, I gave the seat belt a few tug (to trigger the seat belt locking mechanism), and the rattling noise stop.

I guess there is manufacturing defect or something on the locking mechanism. Maybe it doesnt seat properly after sometimes and produce the rattling sound

Today my gf asked me, "Why is there a rattling sound on the back door...? It's so annoying..." mad.gif

So I answered, "it's not the back door... It's your seatbelt..." ph34r.gif

She pulled to tighten it, "Yawor...!" doh.gif

Me went speechless... doh.gif That's for driving a Kereta Mudah Terbakar...

Final Destination Malaysian Edition anyone...? brows.gif

Emkay & Eithanius,

Glad to know it help find the source of the tik tik noise in your car.

Looks like quite a number Alza having this problem.
Could be due to low quality components.

There is something rattling behind the driver side door panel if you hit it with base of you fist. Other doors are OK.

Same with mine, the driver door panel. But it only rattles when hit it with my palm/fist.

Otherwise it wont rattle. So can still drive peacefully unlike the seatbelt pulley. Even waiting at the traffic lights can hear the tik-tik-tik....... i tahan the noise >1yr and finally found it.

Not agree....the car is worst than a 10 years old car spec......I am now driving more than 10 years old car and there is no problem when refilling petrol...no fumes inside cabin...

If you dont care either is a car or mpv, I think it's better you get a car. Not sure about vios coz my officemate bought one recently and he cant stop complaining how loud the radiator fan are. I missed my B Line persona. Quality wise it is much better than alza sxi. 4 years without any rattling noise. Air con is colder too. Aircon dial never go beyond middle setting and fan speed never go beyond 2.

Alza when you have 5 ppl (incl driver), at least fan speed at 3 and coldness setting at 2 'clock

For Vios it's not just the extra 175 per month... It's also on the service as well. Alza major service around 360 - 400 bucks while Vios major service more than 700 bucks... You'll need to factor in service and maintenance cost as well. You can argue that service cost may not be important after the third free service, but since Alza is known to be a problematic car, I recommend servicing the Alza until the full 3-year warranty lapses. Else Perodua will find ways to void your warranty and start charging for replacement parts...

Ass wise of coz Alza can store more. However, due to its spaciousness, the air-cond is a bit weak, especially when you carry loads of passengers on a hot afternoon.

Quality-wise I cannot comment on Vios since I don't own one, but I do have a friend who have had major complaints on quality issue with his, and end up with the statement, "Regardless Japanese or not, as long as it is BELOW RM 100K, don't expect good quality stuff." He has nightmares about Vios giving him problems, while I and some other people here have nightmares on our Alzas.

So far I have not come across any Vios that gets engulf in flames after an accident (and I would love to hear some sources), for Alza there have been some cases already that burns or explodes after an accident or an improper wiring mod. So if you plan to mod your car, stay away from Alza as it is known as Kereta Mudah Terbakar...
