Chamber screw is something like a scam that mechanics will tell you that you need to change the original P2 screw to their so called chamber screw. I personally do not agree after discussing with mechanics and after looking at the screw itself. I called and talked to a Sg Choh P2 HQ mechanic before, they advice no need to do it as there is no benefit from doing it. I did put some chamber screw pictures up a few post back, didn't I?

Want to share a bit on the disc brakes.
I went to change the ori brake pads to something less dusty. But after using for a few weeks, it started to have noise when hitting the brakes. Took it back to mechanics and we saw the disc brake is now not even. So obviously the solution is to skim the surface. He took the disc out from the car, skim it with a rotating machine. Put them back, now it has klok klok klok noise when I hit the brakes.

He said this is normal, all ABS cars will have this for first 2 days. This is unacceptable, but let's try. After 2 days, still have the noise. I took them back and we look at the disc again, uneven once more. So now we use on-wheel skimming. This, in my personal view, is the best way and most effective way. And after doing it, put the brake pads on, indeed no more noise at all each time I use the brakes. No matter how hard I step on it, extremely quiet. So if u get charge for disc surface skimming, make sure you choose on-wheel skimming and not dismantle the disc and skim on a machine, unless they have a extremely good machine I guess.

PUTRAJAYA: The Ministry of International Trade and Industry will announce a cut in car duties from Japan and Australia on Thursday.

Its minister, Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed said on Wednesday the reduction would be over three years for car models originating from the two countries.

Speaking at the investKL media briefing, he said more details would be released on Thursday.

Try driving better cars... Even a first-gen MyVi with good tyres sounds much quieter than my Alza in terms of road noise...

Thanks for the heads-up... I'm still having vibration on high speed braking, and some noise on rear drum brakes despite having P2 cleaning them on last service... rclxub.gif rclxub.gif

Yes, kinda agree with spike. I not sure, mebbe my ears not so good but alza is as quiet as protong (except EFI priming is louder. Can hear it from inside the alza). I guess P2 have done some improvement on sound insulation on newer model. There is no zink roof noise (when heavy rain).

Additional info:

Its minister Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed said the cuts in these duties would happen “over the next three to four years”.

“As you know, there are three types of duties on cars: the import duty, the excise duty and the sales tax - these are the taxes we have.

“Cars which come from Asean are imported duty-free (such as) the cars coming from Thailand now have zero import duty,” Mustapa told reporters at the InvestKL press briefing yesterday.

“We have two trade agreements which are going to materialise in the next three to four years - Australia and Japan. Import duties (including cars and other items) coming from these countries will be zero come 2016. We will definitely prepare our local automotive industry to face this landscape and the expected increase in competition intensity,” he said.

wah...! this one very strong words... sweat.gif

not everyone wanna buy crappy car wei... and some more over here in bolehland, even crappy cars ain't cheap... but if Perodua remains stuck up like that with crappy quality cars, the losing ends will always be the consumers...

unless you don't mind being victimised for every single piece of shit you buy, the "Tidak Apa" attitude will only prevails...

sides... who in the right mind would wanna buy a car that can endanger their lives (had they know of the problems) even when the car is stationary....? petrol leak...? petrol fumes...?

Alza = Kereta Mudah Terbakar... nuff said...

Somehow I get the feeling MAOC has censorship for what can and cannot be posted... Even if got people complained also most if not all may be suppressed... You go and post how sucky Alza is, and see what they say...
