kinda agree with comment on alves, the crosses are not that productive. but if it is up to me, i would prefer 3-1-3-3 , puyol pique alves at the back three, busquet shielding them and ocassionaly help the defense, and 3 more midfielder, xavi iniesta and cesc working together and of course, best 3 attacking, messi alexis and villa and please let villa be in center sad.gif

don't take me seriously, just my rant , how i wish it can be this way tongue.gif

Reading your post I just realized I left out Cesc! OMG why did I do that, I don't even hate him ohmy.gif ohmy.gif

Actually your idea is very similar to mine. But in my system, because Cesc so far has shown tendency to waste the ball under pressure in our system, I'd prefer he is at the receiving end of Xavi and Iniesta passes i.e. he must make more runs from deep. So if Cesc is gonna fit in our forward line should be:

Xavi-Iniesta

Cesc

Sanchez-Messi-Villa

Well I can even imagine our players spread out while attacking as in this formation:

VV

Pique

Busquets

Alves-Xavi-Iniesta-Masch

Cesc

Alexis-Messi-Villa

With Alves and Masch provide the so called width. This way we can see more fast closing down for our trademark defending.

Yes this formation look very radical based on today's way of playing. But honestly we have seen this system before, applied in various way based on Pep's tactics.

One of good example is the link

and where's puyol? sad.gif i like masch for but i still prefer pique-puyol partnership at the back, at least we can defend better from set pieces. i don't mind alves getting forward, but at least please make the most of it. well from what i'm seeing, i don't see quite anyone can replace villa on left flank, hmm

wargh lengthy post from the link given, shall read when i got time. btw any new news regarding villa? last time i thought he can make comeback around end of this month?

At this point, it doesn't matter what tactics they use vs. Chelsea because they are simply burned out so they won't be able to fulfill them.

Any tactic that doesn't involve heavy pressuring will do them good at this moment.

This season, the midfield and attack jsut doesn't have the legs to pressure anymore. What not with Messi's special treatment of having not to pressure anymore in order to keep him fit and healthy.

Luckily Chelsea will just punt the ball so there is hardly any need to pressure much.

My intention was only to present the system, not the players Pep should field. Obviously chosing players to start involve considerations on minor details, which we all don't know what exactly Pep has in mind.

IMO its just essential to counter opponents mindset atm i.e. if they decide to overcrowd their pen box, we should throw bodies up front too. A radical tactic is needed.

Never easy to understand Pep's ideas brows.gif Remember he has been revolutionizing the whole tactical aspect of the game ever since he took charge. Look how many big teams which usually have reputation and resources to play good football, but Pep forced all of 'em to play defensive style. His micro-management is his most valuable asset. That article is one of the good articles to know his ideas. Tak rugi spend time baca thumbup.gif

Villa? I doubt we will see him again this season, even if we reach Munich. So as my tactic, Pedro or Tello or Cuenca or may be able to fit in.

I see you've started to be a bit pessimistic right? Well I don't feel that way yet. Ever since Guardiola's first season and the emrgence of Busquets, I always choose to believe the team and Pep's decisions. Although sometimes his decisions may seem very odd, I always thought to myself that he knows what he's doing.

I will still do that come Tuesday night. I think we can do it. Hopefully as glorious as Van der Sar predicted thumbup.gif

Hopefully no more night shift for me then sweat.gif

Haa... No not really...

Why would you think that I'm pessimistic judging from that post that you quoted?

I'm not questioning Pep's tactics or whatever.
Just his stubbornness in playing Messi even though he knows that we need Messi more than ever in this final stretch.
He should've rested Messi whenever possible for the past 2 weeks prior to the Chelsea match.

Haha but I am actually pessimistic about the Chelsea match.
I dont think they have the legs to score 3.
Yes, 2 is enough but Chelsea will at least score 1 so....

But if we somehow manage to go through then I know players will be rested before the CL and Copa Finals and you know what happens when the players are well rested right?.... rclxms.gif

At least with nightshift you can watch the re-runs but I don't even have Astro anymore!!
It got suspended since yesterday.
For some reason my Mom wants to stop paying.

I wonder if Astro would resume my line for 3 hours only for the match.
I don't know if I can kaw tim or not icon_question.gif
I wish they had a Pay Per View thingy, at least I can pay just for that match.

To be honest. Why would some of u even judge messi's position? Pep knows where he is the best at. And Messi knows where he plays well as well. Yeah he could have been rested. But when the team needs to win, they have to play the best players week in and week out.

3-3-4 it seems. I expect Cesc to bombard forward more this time around. And please players, finish off your chances efficiently!!

Força Barça!!!!!!
